For Synology NAS DS224 owners
I'm leaving this review basically to highlight a very useful bit of information I needed myself when I was looking at purchasing this item. Yes, I can confirm that this memory chip will fit into a Synology NAS DS224 device and works perfectly. I can confirm this after a month of being powered up with no issues. The reason I highlight this is that the DS224 comes with 2GB initially and is supposedly only expandable with another 6GB chip officially. I read that this amount can be exceeded, despite Synology only recommending their expensive chips, and it's correct. The chip itself fitted just fine but remember that you have to fit it at an angle and then push it down into place, rather than try and slide it into the socket, as I initially attempted. I'd recommend looking at a video to see what I mean with that as it'll make it much clearer. I feel the chip is good value for money, especially compared to so-called official compatible versions. Hope some of you find this information useful when considering the same questions I did.

Upgrade for terramaster f2 425. Well worth it and a good price
Used this to upgrade my terramaster f2-425 from the 4gb it comes with to 16gb. Made such a difference, even though it is a slower clock speed. Well worth the cost to upgradeand saves you from the premium for the 2933MHz clock speed (I don't think you would notice much more of an improvement really)

Works well, good value for money
Purchased this to upgrade from 8gig ram in my not do long ago purchased Asus Tuff Gaming laptop. I was finding some issues running certain programmes, especially where a minimum of 8gig is required and realised will be resolved by adding more memory. I elected to upgrade to one 16gig module rather than adding another 8gig module, as this still leaves me the ability to add a further 16gig at a later date. To ensure campatility, I upgraded with the same type and have had no problems. Admittedly, I have not attempted to "push" the speed on the module but quite frankly I have no neccessity to do so.

Check compatability
Unfortunately for my purposes it wasn’t compatible with my NAS, only bought this after an online forum said it may have been. So I wasted my money.

A méditer ... Edit : 5 heures pour la vérification totale de la mémoire par Synology Assistant. Résultat aucun problème, tout fonctionne à merveille. Nous verrons à l'usage, mais c'est d'ores et déjà un bon choix de produit me concernant

Installed it with another 16GB SO-DIMM of another manufacturer and worked perfectly at 1330 MHz, 19 CL, 19 tRCD, 19 tRP, 43 tRAS, 62 tRC, 2T CR, according to CPU-Z. Its timings table specify that it can also run at 1066, 1133 and 1266 Mhz. It uses SK Hynix chips and was manufactured in week 32 of 2025, that is 4 to 10 August 2025. It is important to note that this a dual-rank memory module, with 4 4-chip banks, 2 on each side. Looks like a good quality SO-DIMM.

Producto Extraordinario a un precio inmejorable..!! Comprobado con NAS Synology DS723+ y con todas las versiones Plus (+) y muy probablemente con todos los modelos de Nas Synology. No marca ningún error y trabaja perfectamente. No es necesario pagar más por otras marcas.

I installed the Timetec 16GB DDR4 2666MHz SODIMM in my Lenovo M720q and it works flawlessly. The system recognized it instantly with no issues, and it runs cool and stable even under heavy load. Great performance, solid build quality, and excellent value for the price. If you want maxed dual-channel RAM in the M720q, buy two of these modules — it’s the perfect upgrade path. Easy 5/5!
