This is a great lamp. It does not come with instructions, but I figured out the timer. There are 4 buttons on the white box attached to the cord. The bottom one is power. You first hit the power to turn the lamp on. Then you hit the button that has a picture of a clock on it. If you hit it once, that turns the timer on for 3 hours. You'll see a flashing indicater light above the second button. If you hit the clock button twice, that turns the timer on for 6 hours. You'll see a flashing indicator light above the third button from the bottom. If you hit the clock button 3 times, that sets the timer for 12 hours, and you'll see a flashing indicator light above the top button. You can't tell the timer what time to start and end, it is automatically for 3, 6, or 12 hours from when you start it. For example, I want my lamp on for 12 hours, so at 8:00 a.m. I turned the lamp on and set the timer as described, above, and the lamp now comes on every day at 8:00 a.m. and turns off at 8:00 p.m. If I wanted to adjust this to run from, say, 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., I would just have to go through this procedure one morning at 7:00 a.m. You can't use this lamp with your own timer because once the lamp turns off, it won't turn on again unless you push the button on the cord. I tried doing this before I realized that the lamp did have a timer, and while my own time would serve to turn the lamp off at night, it couldn't turn it on in the morning. I don't know why the company can't be bothered to either include instructions in the package or post them online.

This is a very frustrating unit. While there is much to like about this grow light: It's flexibility allows you to place one unit on several plants. The multi-spectrum lights are better for your plants. The bulbs can be replaced with regular-sized LED bulbs. On the downside: The timer is absolutely the worst. There are no directions included, and if you punch the wrong button the lights won't come on at all. I bought replacement bulbs thinking that the ones that came with the unit had burned out. The day the new bulbs arrived, the olds ones miraculously came back on. It was especially irritating since I purchased the unit in Oct 2020 and this happened in January 2021...3 months later. The same thing happened this March. Someone accidentally hit one of the three (totally useless) timer buttons, and the unit wouldn't turn on. Three days later it turned on by itself. This is so frustrating, especially when you have plants that require a certain number of hours a day of direct sun to survive. I've now put duct tape over the three timer buttons so they won't get tapped by mistake. The company selling this unit either needs to include SPECIFIC instructions on how to set the timer, include a website address where you can get instructions OR leave the timer off. I'm fine with the later. If you have plants that require a certain amount of direct sunlight and want to rely on a timer, BUY ANOTHER PRODUCT!UPDATE: The unit totally quit the day after I wrote the above review. No longer just a timer issue, now the power light won't even come on. This is absolutely ridiculous considering I just purchased it in October 2020. I've tried to contact the company that sold it but my emails keep bouncing back. Great idea...TERRIBLE PRODUCT!

Great product! Being using it for 2 months now and my plants never looked better. My plants only get a couple hours of sun each day, so by the end of the winter they usually looked pretty sad despite my furtilization efforts. This year they look as good as they look outside in summer.The lamp was very easy to set up. Very strong clip. And the flexible shafts help those 3 lights cover lots of plants . I have it run for 12 hours each night and the timer works great. The light is yellow and very cosy at night, doubles up as my night light. I really don't like those bright fluorescent white lights and when I read that this one is yellow it was the winner. Highly recommend!

I bought quite a few of these lights to start seeds in trays, and so far, all my seedlings have been pretty leggy. They're growing, but if I have the lamps about 2-3 inches from the trays (which is ideal), one light of the three doesn't cover all the cells. Basically, you need all three lights to cover one 40-72 cell tray. Which is a lot of power and space inside a grow room. I kind of wish I had just done the cheaper shop lights instead to make sure all the cells get enough light.This works well for established plants. I have a basil plant under these lights, and it's thriving. But this just isn't ideal for seedlings unless you have only a few trays.One of my lights stopped working after two weeks, but Amazon was kind enough to issue a replacement.The quality is also very good on the light itself. It's very sturdy, the bendy necks stay where you place them, and the clips give a strong hold. I've never had one fall off a shelf.
