This one doesn't disappoint
I purchased one of these after hours of research. After I received mine I purchased two more for other family members that I would be camping with. I sleep on my side and it was very comfortable. Unlike thermarest mats that are equivalent to this, these DO NOT CRINKLE with every movement!!! That is worth a lot! They are also only .2 less R value than the thermarest (4.9), coming in at 4.7! This mat will take over the backpacking world if people do the research. It is also very compact and light. If you are on the fence, don't hesitate with this one.

Are you considering an insulated pad? This is the one. Done.
I'm reviewing the XL version. For reference here are the pads I currently own:* Sea to Summit Insulated Comfort Plus Regular Rectangular (x2)* Sea to Summit Insulated Ultralight* Klymit Static V LITE* Chillax Sleeping PadI'll just compare it to it's closest completion, the Klymit Static V LITE.The Recharge XL:* is 15% grams heavier (700g vs 609g, standard stuff sacks and patch kits included)* is $11 (~17%) more expensive* is MUCH more comfortable for a side-sleeper* has a MUCH better inflation/deflation valve* is SLIGHTLY (7%) better insulated* is a good deal easier to fold into thirds lengthwise and roll up to get it back into it's stuff sack* takes a lot of air to blow up!The increase in comfort is really dramatic to me as a side-sleeper. It makes choosing the Recharge XL a no-brainer. It's just a much better pad. It's a real shame the inflation/deflation valve isn't compatible with other pump sacks like the Sea to Summit one. I think that's worth docking it a star. A small rubber band/gasket adapter would be very welcome. That said this is a great, extremely comfortable pad. It's almost as well insulated as the Sea to Summit Comfort Plus Rectangular pads. It's $120 less expensive. It's just as comfortable. It's quieter (if you care about that). It's 223g lighter. The only real gripe is the inflation valve. But it's far from the worst (that honor would go to Klymit, though I think older Thermarest pads are similar). You could buy two S2S pads for yourself and your significant other. Or you could buy five of these. Or two of these and 240 $1 tacos.I'm going to go ahead and say it: This pad isn't perfect. But it you're looking for an insulated pad, this is probably the best available right now. As much as I love them, I'm having a real hard time justifying keeping my S2S pads right now. By carrying two of these instead I'll save almost a pound in weight and $240 in my wallet. It's going to be tough deciding between taking this (700g) or my S2S Ultralight pad (480g) for solo trips. Sure this one is heavier (700g vs 480g), but the comfort! I don't see taking the Klymit pad out again ever really.

Read my review👌
This is the XL. It's nice! It's great competition to thermarest with a better price. Packs down easily and small. Comes with a patch kit. One photo shows the pad with a medium compressable pillow. I'm 6'1" 170 pounds. When on my side I don't feel the ground whatsoever because of the thickness. 100% worth the small ounces. It's very lightweight. Fabric feels good and durable. The R Value is perfect for what I want. I live in Northwest WA and will use it North Cascade mountains. If you need a pad Paria is great!!!! As for their top quilt I'm not sure; they make the thermadown 15°I'd love to compare it to Hammock Gear or EE.Anyway. Pick their XL if comfort matters most. Pick their slightly less thick, less wide, and lower r value pad if ounces matter that much! The XL is more of a 4 season pad. I'll use it year round. I've compared and tried many pads I love this one. It takes up very little space in my pack and weighs nothing in my opinion.

Get this pad.
This is a great sleeping pad for the price. I am 5’2” and I hate that most sleeping pads are either way too long for me or they are torso only. However, this pad is perfect for my height. My feet are the only things that hang off of the pad and that is fine by me.The Recharge S is just about 3 inches in thickness, which is perfect for a side sleeper like myself. It is 23 inches wide, which is sufficient enough for my size. Most of the other brands I compared this pad to listed their width as 20 inches, so I appreciate the extra room. I really like the fact that it is retangular and not mummy shaped, so that the width is maintained throughout the pad. It packs up nice and small and is much lighter than my old self-inflating pad. It comes with 2 patchs, but I am sure duct tape would work in a pinch.Overall I recommend this sleeping pad as an inexpensive alternative to some of the bigger, more expensive brands of sleeping pads. I hope to purchase the roll top pump bag whenever it becomes available.

Close, but not quite
I tried out this sleeping pad during a camping trip to Glacier National Park along with the lighter REI Flash long wide sleeping pad. While I wanted to love this pad, I'm afraid I'll have to return it. Here's my summary thoughts:Pros:* Thick and isolates you from ground temperature* Provides adequate cushioningCons:* Takes too long to blow up (not suitable for backpacking but could work for car camping).* The extra blow up sack has been unavailable/on back order for months. What gives? It should come with this sleeping pad.* At 20", it is too narrow and defeats the purpose of having a thick, long pad. I was constantly worried about rolling off the pad.
