Great Collection of Stories & Info on the Honey Island Swamp Monster
I have the DVD that Dana Holyfield made about her grandfather's discovery of the creature and eye witness interviews, it is one of my favorites. This is a great follow-up with background and new information and accounts of run ins with the creature. Some are very eerie. This book also includes many photos, some in color of evidence and of the folks kind enough to share their harrowing tales. My only complaint is that it is too short! I would love to read about more encounters. I hope that Ms. Holyfield will write more books to keep us up to date. She has done a wonderful job of preserving her grandfather's legacy and I am glad that she is sharing it with us. Well worth your time and a great read if you are a cryptic fan.

I enjoyed reading this. It has eye witness accounts of encounters with this creature. I used to live not all that far from this area and had my own encounter . If you want to have your skin crawl, then you should read this.

A Pamphlet! Money wasted!
Have learned to see how many pages the books are now. OUTRAGEOUS PRICE for this little tiny pamphlet! Waste of my hard earned money for a book my husband read in 23 minutes!

Interesting, what little there is to actually read.
The main feature of this wafer-thin book is a letter that Dana's father wrote about his various encounters. All of the text, some of it in large font, fills half of the booklet (and half of these have at least one photo), the second half is all photos or promo ads. There are only a few photos of alleged foot prints and a shadowy figure that could be anything. Still it was interesting to read about something I'm not familiar with; I'm always interested in these kinds of myths and folklore.

Honey island neighbor.
I enjoyed this book as I've known for a long time about the Honey Island swamp monster, it's a slightly taboo subject here in Mississippi and Louisiana and for good reason. If you admit you saw it you are a nutcase, if you don't you are being untruthful to yourself. It is here too. They are all over the world, it's not a fiction, it's a fact.

Finished it in one read
Sometimes the writing on a page that is supposedly true jumps out at you and oozed, "the truth" right in black and white. I think Dana did a good job covering not only her grandfathers experiences with the Honey Island Swamp Monster but the others noted in this book.

Great accounts of the Louisiana Legend
This book documents several reports from locals in and around the Honey Island Swamp of a local Sasquatch-type creature seen by Dana' s grandfather Harlan Ford and his hunting partner BillyMills a few times, as well as others. The individuals interviewed seem credible and not given to flights of fancy, which adds credibility to them. Dana also plausibly explains the controversy of the shoe with the fake foot attached as documented in a production by Jay Michael andM.K. Davis. I liked this book and highly recommend it.
