Best one I have seen on market so far
First and foremost I would like to give Nexcon an A++++ rating on customer service. I had gotten a lemon and I had a replacement in my hand in one night!!On to the solar power charger…it has been the best one I have seen on the market to date. It has a rugged design that is built to take the abuse of the everyday person. Its battery capacity although weak compared to others on the market at 5000mAh, it was able to fully power my HTC one and half charge my KFHD in one full charge. It took a total of 75 min to bring to a full charge on my android phone. The solar panel does charge the unit (it took approximately 5 days, please keep in mind the sun is not as strong in the fall/winter here in New England, I will update once summer arrives and the sun is stronger) but it does work. There are 2 usb inputs and a Micro USB port to charge the unit through outlet. In short I am very pleased with my purchase and will gladly change from 4 to 5 stars once the summer arrives and I can test the solar charging capabilities once the strong sun arrives here in New England.

Not great with solar
Bought two of these (one blue, one black). As a simple battery pack: Works as advertised. Only 5000mAh, but it works. As a solar powered battery pack: The solar power on this is incredibly finicky. If it doesn't have "enough" charge it won't charge. Both of mine charge incredibly slowly on solar power. It takes anywhere from a day to a week to fully charge, no matter the starting charge. Incredibly prone to heat damage, I had one balloon up on my car in a day's time. The clip is kind of neat, but doesn't fit very well on the handle. It would be nice if there was another ring or something to put the carabiner on but oh well.Pros: Works fine as a tiny battery.Cons: Sunlight charging is finicky at best.

Rugged, Backup Charger for Cell phones with a built in LED Light and Solar Panel
I work full time, and "moon-light" as a taxi-driver for three children. I'm worry about my cell phone battery going dead and not being in contact with my kids, so I bought the Nexcon Solar Charger. I really like it! It is slightly bigger and thicker than my motorolla cell phone. It is rugged with corner protectors and flaps to protect the ports from dust, moisture, etc. You can use a USB cable to charge it fairly quickly. It also has a solar panel on one side that can be used to top it off when it is partially charged, or to maintain its charge. It would probably take a couple of days to fully charge it just from the sun. (Which may be necessary some day here is hurricane country.) It also has an LED light built into it. You have to double click the button to turn it on (took me a couple of minutes to figure it out), but then you have a mini-flash light for emergencies. I've already used it a few times to charge my kids phones when I have dragged them along on shopping trips and in their "boredom" they drained their own devices.

Works fine (as backup power) if you plug it into the wall and charge it, but the solar panel doesn't work at all. Or if it does, it's such a trickle as to be barely noticeable. Disappointing. Also, note this is ONE unit. The picture makes it look like there are two, but if you read the description carefully it is just one. That said, if this was marketed as a plain old backup charger I would've given it 5 starts. But since they are selling it as "solar panel"... seems to me like the solar bit should work.

If you really need to charge your devices indefinitely with your own power I suggest investing more in a better solar power devi
The solar charging is extremely slow. It would recharge my iPhone 5 maybe 1 and a half times from a USB charge, which is a wise thing to do before going on a trip. I brought it camping and left it under direct sunlight for several hours and never got a full charge. Also, the charge it did get was depleted unusually fast compared to the first time from a USB charge.I gave it 2 stars because buying an external battery would have gotten me more charges. The solar power might have gotten me farther over an extremely long trip, but it wasn't practical by any means. If you really need to charge your devices indefinitely with your own power I suggest investing more in a better solar power device. On the plus side, it was relatively sturdy, I can still use it. I just wish I had bought something better.

This is a great little charger
This is a great little charger. I bought it for the wife. She carries her tablet everywhere, but seldom has a place to top off the battery. Now, she can connect to the solar charger, set the panel in her office window, and she's food to go.The buying process was simple. Place the order, the unit showed up on time, as advertised.

Defective, like everyone says.
1) Buy product2) Leave in a sunny window where it will get regular sunlight for 1-2 weeks (this is logical, right?)3) Product bricks itself. Will not accept charge. Will not turn on. Flashlight will not function. Will not charge any other electronics. What did you expect for $13? Cheap crap from China. Let the buyer beware. Never again buying anything from this shoddy company. In a real survival situation you would be SOL.

Awesome
This thing is awesome. Plain and simple. It will charge my phone several times. I live where there is extremely poor cell service and it drains the batteries fast. This allows me to put it in my pocket and charge on the go. Very pleased.
