Rescue Josh McGuire is a great book filled with great adventure. Along the way you will meet the most loving, and friendly boy named Josh McGuire. But there are some things at home that have not been going so well... For example Sam, his drunk, and moody father is one of the problems. He is always creating an uncomfortable environment for everyone to be in. Josh also misses his brother Tye, that had just recently died. But most of all, Josh wants to keep a black bear cub he found. His parents say no way! But Josh has a great plan to try to keep the bear cub. In result, Josh runs away, because of his fear of his own father, and because he believes that Spring Bear Hunting Laws should be changed. Josh says he wouldn't come home unless the Spring Bear Hunting Laws were changed. But as soon as everyone finds out that Josh has gone missing they started to search for the missing boy, Josh McGuire.I really thought this book was a good read. It always kept me wondering what would happen next. I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes a story with great detail and character.

This book is about a boy. His name is Josh, he is 13, and his family is pretty much messed up. His brother got killed in a car crash, and his dad blames himself. Tye had wanted to go to a hunting trip, his dad said no, and Tye died while Sam( his dad) was hunting. Sam thinks that if he had taken Tye with him, Tye would still be alive. They live in Montana, in the mountains. Now, Josh and Sam are hunting, and Sam kills a bear. Josh thinks he sees a cub running away through the trees. The next day, Josh gets up early to find the cub, leaving a note. He lures the cub he finds by the gut pile with cookies. Sam says he will have to give the cub to the game warden, who will give him to scientists, who will kill the cub through experiments. He runs away, with the promise he will not come back until the hunting laws are changed and he gets to keep Pokey, as he has called the bear cub. What will happen next?

I think Josh McGuire was a good book. In the beggining Sam, Josh's dad and him went hunting. Sam shot a mother bear and didn't realize it. Josh knew he saw something suspicious. The next day Josh went down to the mountains where the bear was shot and saw the cub laying by the cut pile. Josh knew his dad shot the mother bear. After Josh went home he thought about all the stuff that happened between him and his dad. Josh wrote a note that with his demands, " I'm not coming back until I get to keep Pokey and until the hunting laws are changed." Josh hung the note on the barn door. Josh then packed his bags and headed to the mountains.At the end of the story the rescue crew found Josh. Josh was badly injured, but his demands were met and he was able to keep Poky at his friends Otis's house. Otis said that he was going to try to ge the hunting laws changed.
