It's okay, but it has a few niggles
I've been hillwalking on an almost weekly basis since 1996, so I know a thing or two about rucksacks, waterproof clothing and boots. I bought this rucksack to downgrade from my standard larger rucksack. On the plus side, as I'm getting older, it's a lighter rucksack. I like the two side pockets as they will hold a good sized bottle or flask. Here are the downsides. I thought that I would really like the zipped pockets on the waist belt. I've put plasters and stuff in them but I’ve hardly used them and often forget that they’re there. They’re not waterproof either. When we sit down for a break, we both have a kneeling pad that we sit on. My old rucksack had a space where I could specifically store the kneeling pad in a separate compartment, right down the back of the sack, but this one doesn't. Finally, I like to walk with my thumbs in the chest strap. Unfortunately, the chest strap pulls away from the rucksack fairly easily and it's come away about four times now. It’s easy enough to put back but I wish I would have known beforehand. It’s okay, but I would change a few things.

Robust
Bought to replace my 12 year old 38 kestrelThe new version is much improved with a few extra features plus much better hip belt and larger pouch on the back and better ventilation.I suspect the capacity is a little bigger.I find it more comfortable than the Osprey Talon tho a few ounces more. Not the lightest of packs but will outlast many others by a long way.

Absolute quality backpack
Absolute quality, brought as a medium between a day pack and a hiking pack, for days out and lightweight overnight wild camps. Its comfortable, highly adjustable and has loads of features. In about 177cm and brought the M/L fits very well and you can cinch it close you your back. Side pockets for water bottles could be a bit bigger but still 5 stars.

Outstanding
Outstanding bag, have done around 100 miles in it over bad conditions and is very sturdy. A little in the heavy side for the size pack but flexibility is great. Would recommend for anyone looking for a over night camp bag or multi day trek.
