Very sturdy and sticky, leaves residue if you aren’t careful
I bought this to keep a newly rescued cat off my kitchen counters. She is the most well behaved and affectionate cat ever but as sure as the sun will rise, the second I would go to sleep, she would be on my counters tearing through anything and everything she could get ahold of. Our other cat jumped on the counter and bar top when we first got him as well, but he did it throughout the day so we were able to break him of it over the course of a few days and haven’t had a problem since then. The newbie on the other hand, we have tried everything and she is just bound and determined to run amok once we are all in bed. So I decided to try the double sided tape thing... This tape definitely does the trick for deterring cats. She wanted NOTHING to do with my counters once she felt that sticky the first time. That being said, it does leave a lot of sticky residue on the counter top if you don’t take your time and remove it slowly. After some trial and error I found that the only way to effectively remove it was with goo gone remover. Still definitely worth it in the long run tho as the new cat has yet to get on the counter and the tape has been gone for weeks now :)

Keep the kitty away from forbidden areas!
This is how to train your cat to stay away from forbidden areas, not by electric shock or harmful sprays. Every time we opened the refrigerator door the kitties would not hesitate to run into it to explore all the heavenly smells and the new stuff! A single stripe of the tape just under the door (where nobody normally steps) was enough to keep them away. They just had to get their paws on the tape 1-2 times to never even care about the refrigerator again. The tape also helped to keep them off the dining table. When they sit on the window sill they are literally a step away from the dining table with all the goodies on it. But they now seem to completely ignore the table. It's a little inconvenient for us to have the tape on that side of the table for now, but worth the result. We will remove the tape after some time to see if the training lasts and for how long.

Attracts hair/lint, looks pretty awful. Hard to remove backing
I'm not thrilled with this product. It definitely does do the trick of deterring my cat from scratching, but it looks like hell on the furniture. As a temporary training aid, it's ok. But I can't leave it permanently on the furniture. It is very visible on my dark teal chair. And it attracts and holds onto hair whenever an animal walks near it, making it hella ugly! Also, removing the backing can be extremely tricky and frustrating. I've wasted several strips trying in vain to get my fingernail in between the tape and the backing (and wasting the stickiness on the other side in the process). It definitely helps to really adhere the tape to the furniture first before attempting to remove the backing. The stickiness helps to hold the tape on and to separate the layers as you dig at the corner. I will say that the tape looks much better on our couch, which is a mid-tone beige color. It blends in much better. But on the dark furniture, it looks horrible. Bear that in mind. If your furniture is beige, it might look ok.

Does work!! They hate it!!! Lol
I bought new furniture and wanted it to last awhile so I bought this. There was enough tape for a sectional sofa with chaise and two armchairs. It’s relatively easy to apply but if you’re unsure, practice with a small piece first. It’s very sticky and easy to ruin if you don’t get hang of it.Anyway I taped sides, bottoms & corners-anywhere I knew my cats would like. Then I sat back and watched them examine tape and start scratching; immediately getting their paws stuck. They unstuck themselves and walked away. They tried a few more times but eventually stopped trying. I then started removing tape from upper areas where my hair would get caught. I left on the bottom tape. The cats have pretty much left it alone.

Great idea for cat owners who don't want furniture to be a scratching post
Bought this when I purchased a new sectional in hopes to prevent the cats from scratching it up. It went on fairly easy- well as easy as a long strip of 2 sided tape can. After about 2 weeks I pulled it off one corner because I was afraid that it would be permanently embedded in the fabric. No issues! I will say that 1) I had one cat that kept chewing on a bit that wasn't quite stuck down (I pushed the tape back on and no issues now) and 2) be aware that, depending on where you place the tape, you too can get stuck to the furniture. I needed the corners protected and occasionally brushed by them and was reminded the tape was there.

Actually works
This stuff is amazing!!!! I have an entire sectional set in my sunroom that my cats destroyed whithout me knowing and the furniture company replaced it so now I am super Anal about the animals going in that room and then I got this tape and I put it all along the bottom of the two chairs and the sofa and it is amazing! The cats tried to claw at it once and they never have gone back again and my brand new replacement furniture is clean as can be and the cats don’t even bother it I would highly recommend this small investment to save your furniture!!! My husband didn’t think this tape would work but it has been phenomenal so far

Situationally effective
Very sticky, which is generally good, but can leave residue or cause damage on certain surfaces. Cats generally avoid, but a persistent one will keep at it until after the stickiness wears off. Tape is strong and durable but sometimes hard to peel off to apply. Works great in certain areas that can be entirely blocked by tape, but did not work great on furniture with a smart kitty.

Seems to work!
We're training my 9 month old kitten to stay off of counters and tables. Based on some advice I read online, I used this tape to cover some large pieces of poster board and set them on the surfaces when we're not using them. I saw him step on them a few times and he obviously doesn't like the feel of the tape. Since then I've seen him approach the surfaces a few times and then change his mind. I was worried that he'd get the poster boards stuck to himself, but he hasn't. The tape seems to be just sticky enough to deter him!
