My most beloved books
These are the books I turn to. I enter an amazing world. I cannot get enough. Ms Alders storytelling is out of this world. I adore every character. I re-read these books at least twice a year. Iām trying to figure out the look of Meryn. Ryuu is Daniel Henney from Criminal Minds, even tho heās not Japanese and has longer hair. I love thĆ© way the women are the turning points. Women wish we could be loved the way these men love. I get very grumpy with my husband because heās not a shifter and doesnāt worship the ground I walk on. I cannot get enough and I hope Ms Alder writes 100 books in this series

different fun read
I expected something very different from this, at first I was hesitant cause instant love is not my trope. But the background story the author created was fun to learn about. The FMC surprised me too, I enjoyed having a strong female lead for her mate

This book radiates happiness
-m/f-paranormal-fated mates-instalove-a few steamy scenes-dual POV-standalone in an interconnected seriesThis book is about Meryn and Aiden. Meryn is human and she finds out she is mates with a bear shifter. This is their story. Iāve always been a sucker for the fated mates trope, especially when it comes to shifters! That overwhelming need to be near their mate gets me every time. I really enjoyed the characters. Iām gonna be honest and say that this book is definitely OTT, and you need to expend reality while reading. I didnāt think I was going to like it because itās written in third person POV, and I normally donāt like that, but I stuck with it and Iām SO glad I didHappiness. Thatās all I can describe this book as. It literally feels like Iām reading happiness LOL. I loved the characters and all of the secondary characters. I canāt tell you how many times I laughed out loud, and how many times I said āawwwā with pure joy. The author has done a sweet, yet amazing, job at writing the love and loyalty in ALL of the relationships. Watching Aidens parents get emotional about gaining a daughter was the sweetest thing ever. Hell, even watching Meryns interaction with the sprite was so sweet, and again, just made me HAPPY.There were a couple of times I rolled my eyes because Meryn did come off as childish, such as when she asks Aidens brother to be her friend and then tackles him playfully. The scene was just that, childish. BUT it definitely didnāt take away from the overall effect of the book, for me.Someone in one of the readers group Iām in recommended this book, and then I seen where a fellow friend on goodreads gave it a high rating so I took the plunge and purchased the book. Iām SO glad I did. The scene of the guys buying tampons alone made the book worth it because it was HILARIOUS. Iāve been reading some dark and heavy books lately and I really wanted a book to cleanse my palate, and this book did that. It was so sweet, with a decent amount of sexual tension and suspense. Iāll definitely be purchasing the next book as well.

Unique Story
I liked the concept and world building in this book, but I had a very, very hard time with the heroine. Yes, sheās quirky and funny and colorful, but I hadnāt learned her actual age until near 40% of the way into the book, and thatās when I struggled. She said she was 34 when in reality, she acted like a teenager. Heck, Iād have even bought 20. But 34? No way.I could not reconcile the age with the behavior, which was ignorant and foolish at times (the grenade scene really had me questioning whether Iād continue with the series after this book). How could you not know what pulling a pin on a grenade meant? Cartoons had you fooled? No, I wasnāt buying it, and struggled ever since. Some of her behaviors were cringe-worthy and embarrassing at times. Someone who is that old would have somewhat of a mature streak to themāand thatās not to say people in their thirties canāt be nerdy and quirky and fun; thereās just a limit.I enjoyed Ryuu a lot, and canāt wait to get to know him more. Asian characters arenāt seen in romance novels that often, and Iām loving the diversity. There were things that happened and were just shrugged off at times, also making it difficult to buy the story and fully immerse myself. Insta-love is okay, but there was more depth between Meryn and other characters than there was between her and her mate. I also wouldnāt label her issues as being introverted either; thatās more like agoraphobia mixed with anxiety. As an introvert in her thirties, Iāve learned how to navigate people.I will continue with the series in hopes of finding a heroine I connect with, but if it gets to be too outlandish with the immaturity, Iāll probably move on.

The best paranormal series, ever
I love reading and paranormal romance is a favourite of mine. I know that ratings matter to authors but I find it hard to put into words exactly how a book makes me feel, but for this series I will try.Meryn is the hero of the books, she is a human, speaks geek, a hacker, anti-social but loveable. Aiden is a warrior, a bear shifter. Their love is amazing. Each book concentrates on a new mating but all of the books are intertwined and the characters are brilliant - I love them all. They are loving, funny, sexy, caring, snarly, crazy and I'll say it again, loveable. It is primarily MF romance but there are a couple of MM but they are so sweet they make you want to hug them, laugh and cry with them.Every time a new book comes out I re-read the series and buy them each and every time. I do read a lot of books on KU but there are some that are keepers and these books are it.I'm going to cut and paste this review to each of the books as I hate repeating myself in a review and I'm only going to say the exact thing for each of the books.Read them, you won't be disappointed.

My commander - hilarious and entertaining
This is the first time I've read any book by this author having finally gotten around to reading it having purchased it almost a year ago. So far, I've found it to be an entertaining read which has made me laugh out loud. The lead character of the book, Meryn is a strong, sassy woman and doesn't give a toss what others think of her. Whilst having had a lonely upbringing, she is endearing, has a snarky sense of humour, is very direct (mouth speaks before brain engages) yet is sensitive, has stayed strong, focusing on the present rather than the past (there are situations which arise that give you glimpses into her past on a couple of occasions, yet she strikes me as a strong person unwilling to let the past hold her back or get her down). I've been an avid reader of the paranormal genre for 45+ years, although I've lost count of how any books and authors I've actually read. I rarely provide reviews of books as I never feel I can describe a series or author in sufficient detail. However, having read this book yesterday, I also downloaded the next two books which have now been devoured, and am onto book 4, as well as having downloaded books 5 to 8 too. All three books have made me laugh out loud too - especially when Meryn set fire to her mates car for not listening to her - go girl!! So far I am not disappointed in this series. It's nice to have a refreshing female lead who is down to earth, practical, snarky - must have 3-4 cups of coffee before anyone speaks to them before fully awake - as does another mate in book 3. This results in the big military trained men shuddering in their boots. However, the men whilst they may not appear to be a stereotypical alpha as described by other authors, are just as endearing - they are willing to do anything for their mates - even shopping for tampons, condoms etc which results in hilarious behaviour as they are totally clueless about human women as well as what these things are for!Only slight downside is, I've like the stories to be slightly longer and a few more clues / puzzles in order to solve the mystery of the ferals. On the other hand, it may be that I've read so many books over the years, that I can sense where it is leading. Otherwise, this is a series with refreshing characters and I hope books 4 to 8 (No 9 not currently available) continue to make me laugh out loud and be as entertaining as the previous 3 have done. Love the humour throughout the books.

Started with potential
I purchased this after reading some of the reviews, even though it sounded familiar. Unfortunately, I had already had the book as a free download sometime ago and stopped reading it quarter way through as it was so farfetched. As I say, it Started with potential, there was a refreshing female lead who was feisty and a bit eccentric and some lol moments there was also about bad plot going on, but it was the relations , they were cringe worthy. I mean who after 2 days of meeting someone says "I think I love you" and the response is "I think I love you too" š¤ and then there is the whole relationship with the in-laws going on, it was just too sickly sweet. If all that had been left output probably would have been an ok read. I know now why I didn't finish it beforehand wish I'd left a review and not ended up purchasing it š²

A very entertaining read
Where to start... firstly it's a comical romantically action story, the main character Meryn is absolutely chaos and hilarious in a new world she has been thrown into especially when keeping not only her destined mate on his toes but that of his men under his command as well as the hierarchy of their society too. I love the way the socially awkward woman carves a place for herself in her new world and fast becomes a respected member of her new family. The funny antics and disasters surrounding her makes for great entertainment with the added extra of some action scenes and romantically charged sexual scenes although tame compared to other stories of this kind, and far less explicit which makes it a good read for those not into highly charged stories.

absolutely fantastic
This is the first book in an awesome series. It is far too complicated a world to give a synopsis in a review but Meryn a wonderful, nerdy human finds herself drawn to a new place to live. It is linked to some weird dreams sheās been having. She goes exploring in the forest one day and finds herself kidnapped by the man sheās been dreaming about. She suddenly finds herself in a world of shifters, vampires, fae and witches plus some really evil ferals . This is the tale of how she begins her adventures. Completely engrossing.
