2 Channel Car Stereo Amplifier- 1400W Dual Channel Bridgeable High Power MOSFET Audio Sound Auto Small Speaker Amp w/ Crossover, Bass Boost Control, Gold Plated RCA Input Output, Black - PLA2200

I bought this for my first car, and first set up. I did the install by myself, with a little help from the internet, of course (as well as installing the stereo) without really any prior knowledge. Once I got the cables all run throughout my car, it was as simple as just plugging it in and turning on my stereo. It drives my two little 600 watt 8"s just fine and with no overheating. I accidentally blew a fuse by not paying attention and reversing the 12v power and ground... hehe. The only time it overheated and kicked into protect mode was when I parked in the sun and forgot to put up my reflector (it's in the back windshield, bolted into the metal of the chassis of the back seat) and it baked in the sun all day (it's black, so it gets monster hot with direct 98 degree sun). A little AC and shade and she cooled right off. tl;dr Great amp for the price, prompt delivery, easy install even though I had no idea what I was doing. Drives my 8"s just fine.

I bought two of these amps to run 2 12" mtx Subs. If you use heavy gauge power and ground wires along with a good capacitor and quality speaker wire you will have a thumping system. I actually had these bridged AND running 2 ohm loads (friend hooked them up wrong). I didn't realize it until a week later, but they never overheated and thumped like no other. I ended up leaving them at 2ohms bridged cuz they worked so good. I'm not sure why I got away with those amps running such a low ohm bridged, but I'm guessing that 0 gauge power (with 1 farad cap) and 8 gauge speaker wires helped a bit. Oh and I did replace the 10amp fuses with 20 amps as soon as I got them out of the box (10amp fuses? I changed them so I wouldn't get laughed at.) I recently got some Alpine 10" Type-R subs and these amps will not push them, but if you are building a low budget system they work great. I paid $99 for the pair... GREAT VALUE!!!

After I finally got around to having this amp installed, I was pleased as punch to having a little bass in my trunk. It sounded decent, for the price, and filled out the low end nicely. Unfortunately, the success was short-lived. After the first day (and literally less than 4 hours of use) the amp stopped working. I checked to see what had happened and the two 10-amp fuses on the amp were both blown. Perhaps I had the levels turned up too high, so I can claim responsibility for blowing the fuses (even though I'd think the built-in protection circuit would trip before the fuses blew - which it didn't). [Note: I'm using this amp with the Pyle 12" 600W sub, which you'd think would be a tested match]. So, I replaced the two fuses and expected to be back to normal. WRONG. Now when I turn on my radio with the volume on the lowest setting, the amp turns on for a second and then immediately goes into "protection mode" (the green light turns red). This means no sound from the amp. All of my other fuses are in-tact, but for some reason, the amp just won't stay out of protected mode. Given that it's broken so quickly, I'd say stay away.

Really Is A Good Amp Just Dont Push It

Budget amps like this always get mixed reviews. I'm here to tell you, if installed correctly, and every other part of your system is up to par, this thing get err done. The people that say this thing doesn't put out enough need to stop listening to music for a few months, cause they have gone FRICKEN DEAF. That or something else along their power line sucks (ie. speakers, cables, or head unit.) I power two very nice Kicker 10s and let me tell ya, this thing delivers nice clean bass, and plenty of it. Also looks great. I can't say about the install cause i didn't do it myself, but I havn't had a problem. Course I also run my stuff through a 5 farad Pyle capitor, KnuKonceptz cables, a Clarion EQ, and a sweet head unit....so I'm sure all that helps considerbly. Btw all that stuff can be found on Amazon for CHEAP and I highly recommend you buy um. But anyway this product rocks and you can't beat it for the price so go ahead and rest assured that if you install it right and have good back up stuff it won't let you down. I've been bumpin it for a year and half now... Edit: Been 8 years and still going strong!

I liked the price which is why I'm sure ALOT of use bought this amp, When the amp hits it hits hard , but even with the gain turned down low and all the bass turned off at the deck , the amp will start to get hot after 4-5 songs and shut off to cool down, once it's cooled down your back to bass , that is until it gets hot again repeat process. I have the 1400x2 amp , on 2 fosgate 10s p3s The amp does not handle the base at all. I give it a 3 star because when it is cold it works great, it's price effective, however there is no longer car rides and enjoying your music loud with this amp

Not sure that the item should have silver screws and a photocopied manual???
