Good board for price
Great little board, but be sure to oil it with mineral oil when you first get it. The way the board absorbed the oil, I don't think it was oiled during the manufacturing process. It's critical to oil your wooden utensils and cutting boards to prevent cracking, make clean-up easier, and maximize life. Plus if the pores are filled with mineral oil, they won't fill with juices from meats, etc. After oiling it was a little rough, but a light sanding took care of the problem. The well did a fine job of trapping juices from roasted pork tenderloin. No more messy countertops!

Well made, holds juices, easy to finish to your own standards
Arrived slightly earlier than expected, which was great. Cutting board was dry and not as finished as described, but I prefer that because I could easily do some basic sanding and then treat it with food grade finishes, all without a factory finish gumming up the job. Juice groove has really good capacity and the Board is tight and well made.

Perfect for what you'd need it for, but not the greatest construction
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my BBQ-loving husband, since the grooves to catch juices were deeper than most I've seen. It's also a nicer large size for big grilled meals, cutting lots of veggies, etc. I like this cutting board, HOWEVER, ours has begun to split already. I'd say we've used this roughly 25 times in the 2 months we've had it....not exactly thrilled this is already coming apart. We have ONLY hand-washed (too large to fit in dishwasher anyway!) Disappointed that I will most likely have to replace soon.

Was good for a little while.
So I lived the shape of this board and the deepness of the troughs/channel on the outside. We got the butchers oil. We don't put it in the dishwasher. After we wash it my husband oils it. However it's coming apart in the middle of the board. The glue has given up and now it leaks. :(

Cutting in here!
Very nice board, good gutter and reservoir for juice. I think it's CNC routed in production, and not sanded, so a bit of sanding before finishing is advised. Also, it's flat on the bottom, so I drilled/glued some wooden button feet on it. Finish: mineral oil (won't spoil/rancid). Main use for me is turkeys, so it's seasonal, but I just got tired of juice flowing over everywhere; this handles it very well. Good size for 20--25# bird.

It's got the splits.
It is a beautiful board and you'll get some good usage of it. Plus the juice groove and reservoir holds about a half cup of liquid! The way the grain is oriented however, and the thickness (or relative lack thereof) causes this board to split at the glue joints with some moderate use. Oiling it often helps, but the splitting is inevitable. If you have titebond II wood glue and some clamps you can glue it back up and it'll be good as new.I recommend you save your money, and get a thicker board. ATK recommends the 70$ version of this board. I thought because of the manufacturer, I could save money by getting this one. I was wrong.

Beautiful Carving Board
Wow, I have been using the same old cutting board I got as a wedding gift back in 1979. I found this on a warehouse deal sale and liked the fact this had a grove in it to collect liquids from food when carving food. This is a beautiful board, decent size, not huge not small and looks perfect for a warehouse deal item. I love that it is American made and the wood grain and colors look good. Obviously cutting boards changed in the last 30 some years... I bought some oil to put on it and will be using this on Christmas Day for caring the rib roast.

It's ok but warped
I'm a chef and when I saw this borad I was really excited for something that would be heavy like butcher block. I loved the looked of the product and the deep groove around the edge. After a few washes it has completely bowed out of shaped though. We've never left it to soak in water, just washed it with soap and then dried it and it now rocks on the counter when we try to use it. I know how to do wood working and know that if it would have been put together propperly this problem could have been avoided, so I'm going to have to chalk this up to poor craftsmanship. I have to say that I wouldn't recommend this particular product to anyone in the future and I have been quite let down.

Wrapped in less the two months
This is not a good cutting board. I took care of it the way the manufacturer outlines and it warped in less then two months. Waste of money.

Doesn't last :-(
This JK Adams cutting board. Had i reviewed this item after a month, I would have easily given it 4 or 5 stars, as it performed very well and looked very nice. If it had lost a star at all, it might have been for value, as it was quite expensive.Unfortunately, like the only other reviewer of this item (which is in french), the cutting board does not hold up. I very much cared for it, never soaking it, never putting it in the dishwasher, and i even seasoned it on a few occasions, but it was all for not. In the end, its (possibly inferior) glue is giving way, leaving gaps between the wood seams; perfect places for bacteria to fester. It can't be used as a cutting board any more...maybe as expensive kindling to start a fire.Front and back photo attached for reference.I am very sad.
