After resurfacing my driveway and garage, it became clear that it was too slick and was a safety hazard. I tried a number of things to make it less slick, but nothing was working adequately. I came across this product, and though it came in a very small container, and the grit additive was like baby powder, it has worked beautifully. The garage and driveway are no longer slick, and I feel confident that both surfaces are safe now. Great product!

I was commissioned to make a loft bed for a friends oldest daughter with the stipulation that if the results were satisfactory a second bed would be ordered for the younger daughter as well. I wanted the bed to be not only stable but beautiful, functional, graceful and safe. Part of the safety was to make sure the ladder rungs were non-slip and yet clean and classically beautiful. I did not want a clumsy ugly carpet or plastic treads that are so often used in beds seen at Ethan Allen, or Havertys. I chose masonary defense fine grit. It was added it to polyurethane and carefully applied to the ladder rungs. It is the perfect fine grit solution that will prevent a slip and yet so unobtrusive that it let's the beauty of the wood shine through. It is a well thought out product that yields excellent results. I will use it in all similar applications in the future.

Refinished my stairs to a dangerously beautiful sheen. After a few near misses I purchased this product. Applying a coat (containing 1 pint of acrylic clear, and about 2 oz. of this product) was easier with the aggregate (less puddling, acting more like a slurry), and competely transformed the feel of the surface without any significant visible impact. All told the cost is less than tread carpets, covers a far greater area (including the nose, and corners of each tread, AND two 9 Sq ft. landings) and is far easier to keep clean. Mixing into the clear coat was very easy (the brush was able to agitate, and quickly mash up the few clumps/lumps). This was far easier than sticking tread carpets, and then searching for matching carpets for my two landings! Update Nov 2022: Much of the aggregate has dislodged, and while it's still better than no anti-slip additive, it's lost much of it's grip. It's unclear if this is a failing of the additive, or the acrylic I used on the staircase.

I used this to make stucco-type texturing for a dollhouse chimney and porch steps. I added it pretty liberally to my paint and then dabbed on the textured paint (brushing did not work as well) in successive thin layers until it had the evenly gritty texture I wanted. It worked well for this purpose. I like that it was a small container, too, since I did not need much for my little job. There was plenty of grit left over for several such small projects.

I bought this to create some kind of less than smooth surface when I’m put resin on coasters this mix is in very well, but it didn’t do anything that I expected

Used this on some wood steps I'm making. Added it to Masters Armor clear coat (great stuff) and it dries clear with a fine sand feel to the touch. Haven't finished the project yet so don't know about durability but should be fine, fingers crossed.

Product mixed with paint easily and stayed suspended for several hours during the painting process. Created a safe surface when wet but not so much when frozen.

I’m confident ,in saying that this powder ,mixed into this paint will help to not have me slip from a slippery floor.
