There are few Tuna Fish cans I can eat straight out of the tin. The flavor is fantastic with a lovely texture. I’ve enjoyed fresh tuna in Greece, this is as close to that as I can find.

I don't generally buy tins this expensive, but someone on reddit had suggested this tin for a board I was putting together for a party. The fish definitely was worth the price. Super subtle but rich taste and the texture to die for.

The tuna it's self was very good. I was expecting from the write ups and description soft, marbled tuna. Instead it is dry with no belly fat to soften it. It is delicate in flavor, tastes good but not the soft pliable tuna I was expecting. For the money it is over priced. Beats the heck out of regular tuna just not as described.

Years ago, I bought some Tonnino Ventresca Tuna in a little jar at a local store. It was exquisite in texture and flavor. I noticed the color was darker than other grades of Tonnino. the next time I bought two jars - also excellent. The third time I got some, I noticed the color was lighter (similar to their other grades), and it was rather mundane in flavor and texture. At a different store I bought another (still Tonnino Ventresca Tuna) with similar disappointing results. I've never found any that appeared darker in color like the first ones since. Their product had changed. I was hoping to find real ventresca tuna again with this product, but alas, it was similar to the inferior products described above, good canned tuna, but overpriced, and not the exquisitte product I was hoping for.

Das Bauchfleisch vom weißen Thunfisch in mildem Olivenöl... an Sommerabenden kann ich mir kaum etwas Schöneres vorstellen. Begleitet nur von etwas warmem Brot und einem leichten, frischen Salat (angemacht mit etwas Öl aus der Thunfischdose, Zitronensaft, Salz und Pfeffer). Der Thunfisch kommt dabei nicht in den Salat, sondern unbedingt daneben. Bei uns wird der Thunfisch gar nicht gewürzt. Er kommt genau so auf den Teller wie er aus der Dose kommt. Ein Gedicht! Der Preis ist hoch, aber angemessen. Dies ist nichts, was man in großen Mengen gedankenlos in sich hineinschaufelt. Dieses edle Stück Thunfisch will bewusst genossen werden und etwas Besonderes bleiben. Meist teilen wir uns zu zweit oder zu dritt eine dieser kleinen Dosen. Dann bekommt eben jeder nur einen recht kleinen „Happs“.
