This is a great product. This is definitely one of my favorite films. It has captured some of the best skin tones and it really impresses viewers. I often get asked if it was a Hollywood studio that took the photo (and Iโm not the worldโs best photographer by any means). One thing that it is not, I repeat, not good at is low lighting. At Disneyland (for example), at night I took a photo of Main Street. I could only see the popcorn lighting on the buildings and some of the castle at the end of Main Street, but everything else was dark. During the day, however, the photos I took of Main Street and the castle were spectacular. In conclusion, it is by far one of the best daytime films.

You really can't get much better in color print film that this brand.
If you find these film packs at a good price, jump on the deal. My price target is around $15 per roll. Anything higher, I would look for lower grade, more general use slide film. Store what you get in your freezer.

Nice contrast and detail
Nice contrast and detail ! Let's hope the manufacturer continues production of this film. I have been using Ektar 100 ever since the "new" version came out, and decided to try a pro-pack of the Portra. Most of my film shooting is in the Summer, on the water, with lots of sunlight and reflections. The Ektar always did well, but the Portra wonderfully preserves the detail in the shadows. Less grain than Fuji 160S. Exposed and developed at rated speed. I sent it off to a professional photofinisher. Serious camera & glass.

Lovely, try it!
This is an absolutely amazing film. Sharp, with slightly muted tones, exceptionally flattering to fair-skinned models and rainy, foggy days. I shoot it at the rated ISO, and this is my favorite color film for portraits and general use. I would bet a lot of Kinfolk magazine is shot with this film or a close digital imitation, it certainly has a similar look. Highly recommended.

A Beautiful and Versatile Film!
I've used all the Portra films and this is my favorite. It's slow but you can get beautiful outdoor shots in low light if you can hold the camera steady enough, but indoors in artificial light it's not as great. The color rendition is accurate with that beautiful, soft Portra glow.

I know, from past experience, that Kodak Portra 160 is an excellent film.
Kodak Portra 160 is probably the best colour print film available. The colours and colour balance are excellent; with no particular bias, or emphasis, to any colour. All colours are rendered lifelike and natural, and definition is also, excellent. Skin tones are particularly good and natural. This is not the case with certain other films, that I have tried. Fuji film tends to emphasize the yellows and greens in the picture, and lesser Kodak film emphasizes the reds and browns, in the picture. The ASA 160 speed rating is a little slow, but gives a grain-free picture. One limitation of this film is that it has a shorter shelf life than amateur film. I would recommend it be kept in the fridge until needed. I would recommend this film to every professional, and keen amateur photographer.
