WARNING: RIP-OFF
It's scandalous that Amazon is peddling digital copies of this "book". Do not buy the Kindle edition, because you can get this e-book for free from Project Gutenberg. Even better, the Project Gutenberg version is actually formatted so you can read the sonnets in 14 lines as Shakespeare intended. This Amazon clone doesn't even have line breaks. As for the "annotated" in the description, I haven't been able to find any notes on anything in the Amazon download. This is simply a scam.

Terrible quality
The book is a photocopy of a book? Pages are blurry, mushy, and do not cover the page.

Not Worth Buying
This is not a printed book but merely a bad photocopy of an old paperback from someone's personal library - perhaps bought for study in a college course 60 years ago. It is difficult to read and not worth the money. There is nothing new in the modernization of Shakespeare's work and there are much better and more readable volumes on the market.

Well Published Book
Such a beautiful version. I purchased the hardcover, and the pages are quality. Not tissue paper, but thicker, almost like good magazine stock but not shiny. Not exactly matte, but very pleasant. The layout is designed for easy reading, and there are front sections in the book to assist the novice to the expert in decoding and understanding The Bard’s use of English. A delight. I’m glad I upgraded from my old, faded, tattered version.

The Hardback Copy of THE OXFORD SHAKESPEARE SECOND EDITION Is Excellent
I have not seen the Kindle edition that many of the reviewers here disapprove of, but the hardback edition is first-rate. The paper quality is good (not onionskin), the text font is easily legible, the characters' names are fully spelled out each time they are used (no "Ham." for "Hamlet" or "Per." for "Pericles"), the feel of the book is substantial. And the price is excellent. If you are looking for a complete works of Shakespeare that you can delight in and lose yourself in, this is the one to add to your basket--durable, legible, well made, and one of the crown jewels of stage and life.

Do Not Buy This Book
This book is awful do not buy it first of all I needed a book for school so bought. The issue is there is no form of organization in this book there is no table of contents so if you, nor page numbers, nor are categories for which all the works of Shakespeare fall under their all just in there in a jumbled mess. Next the pages aren't even filled and this looks likes they just took a picture of a book and pasted it on to the page. There even lines and arrow around the book future proving someone else'spoint about this probably being a library book that someone copied and published. Please don't but this book.

Good Bound version, not so great Kindle edition
The bound edition is quite nice. The kindle version seems to be from Gutenberg org and is not the best version. Four for the contents, and deduct 1 for terrible formatting. There must be a kindle version that looks better and has at least some footnotes. Unfortunately I cant afford the Oxford version of this "collected works"; still it was only 99cents , so I guess it was almost to be expected. I wish they would indicate if it comes from Gutenberg.

Cheap leather cover, and damaged
This is a review of the leather-bound version only. I don't know anything about the kindle version.I was aware that I was getting a used version, but the one I got was still disappointing. The cover isn't real leather and isn't bound very well, so it probably won't have a long lifespan. The cover is a cheap plastic over what feels like plush beneath, so it's squishy and not durable at all.The copy I got had a split all the way down one side of the cover at the back corner. Additionally, the pages feel thin and cheap. In short, I would recommend paying an extra $10 or so for a better version, unless you only want it for one-time use.

lovely edition in several ways - see short review
Great book, lovely Oxford strong but flexible binding, and clear font on nice paper - with a price which makes going for cheap photo facsimile editions etc. just not worth it. It's of course quite heavy (physically) if you want to read in bed...

Bit of a mess
I just downloaded this onto my Kindle but alas, I'm quite disappointed. I haven't done enough research to know for sure if this is the best option, but it's not a great option. There is no index, no table of contents. It's starts with The Sonnets, which are just spewed out without being numbered, and all you can do is go back or forward. I tried to search for 'Anthony' in order to find Anthony and Cleopatra but it informed me it hadn't been indexed. So this is essentially useless as I am not going to scroll through the entire works of Shakespeare. I bought it to have it on my Kindle for reference in addition to a copy at home. I will be seeking a refund as I cant understand how this is remotely usable.

Excellent value
Great value for money, well organized and easy to find your way around from the table of contents. The only downfall is that there are no line numbers as in printed Shakespeare, so you cannot reference that way.

Do not purchase
Item was not the Arden Shakespeare as advertised in the photograph but a very poor quality copy not even fit for GCSE students. Keep well away from this item.

A stitch in time
I have always wanted to delve into Shakespeare's works and this is a golden opportunity to do so.
