Satechi USB Portable Humidifier v.2.5 (Regular) - Personal Mist Humidifier - Compatible with Most Water Bottles

Outputs a surprisingly high amount of vapor. Works really well. I bought this to use on long haul flights. Tried it on a flight last week - made a huge difference in how I felt during (and after) the flight. After that test, I bought two others for family members. One tip: if the wick is very dry when you first put it in the water bottle, it will take a few minutes for it to suck up water, and during that time, it will seem like the humidifier is not working. After a few min, unplug it and then plug it back in again, and if the wick is sufficiently wet, then it will start working (NOTE: it will not start working automatically when the wick is wet enough. You have to unplug/replug it). Also, one other tip: one of the units that I received still didn't work after half an hour of being in the water bottle. I found that I needed to remove the wick and then reinsert it (it had become dislodged during shipping, I'm guessing). Once I reinserted it, it worked right away. BTW - one of the units that I purchased arrived with the USB plug slightly out of place. I sent it back, and was issued a credit before it was even received back at amazon. Great service.

It sounded great and the concept was awesome, but the execution failed miserably. The device worked well for one day and then it petered out. No vapor, no nothing!! You can put it atop any bottle of water; however, unless the length of the filter goes all the way down to the bottom of whatever bottle you are using, the humidifier stops with over half of the water still in the bottle. It needs to go back into production with a different approach. Meanwhile, the portable bottle cap air humidifier I purchased with its own little bottle (by Acoustic Audio Tek) is AWESOME!!

i really wanted to like this thing. It is very dry year-round where I live and humidifiers can make all the difference. I sprung on this one due to the largely great reviews, however, now having it for only 2 weeks, it is utterly useless.It does a majority of what they say: fits on a large variety of bottles, it's small and portable, produces quite a bit of mist for 6 hours then shuts itself off.Now for the setbacks: you ONLY get a usb cable, so if you don't want to plug it in to your computer all the time, be sure to have an adapter. This was my biggest issue though it could be said is due to user error -- i only had a laptop. Due to this, and having pets and a little child, it has been knocked over multiple times. When this happens, you can get cracks as i did that cannot be fixed, and highly disrupts the mist flow, to the point for me where, it puts out next to nothing. When i first started using it (i did see other reviews that say the same thing and they're NOT kidding) it puts out so much mist, it makes everything around it WET, and there is no way to adjust or control the mist. I also really dislike that it times out after 6 hours. this seems like such an odd time frame, i wish it would go at least 8 hours so i could've had it run through the night as i slept, but again i don't think there's any way to adjust this. Another issue for me is that the mist it puts out, regardless of the temperature water you use, is a cool mist. If mine was still useable i would want to be able to use it in the winter but cool mist would be terribly annoying then.i ended up getting a (what i thought was a 'lesser') brand version for my daughter, and since this one was so disappointing, i've taken to using hers instead. no complaints so far...

After reading the reviews I purchased this product for our holiday trip to Colorado (which is always uncomfortably dry for me). It works really well- not sure how that much mist can come from that little water (the water level only went down a few inches by morning) but I do have a couple of complaints. First, why isn't the filter longer? I suppose it is because (as other reviewers pointed out) that it shuts off after 8 hours. I can't verify thAt since I always went to sleep shortly after starting it, and it was always off when I woke up. Haven't been keeping track of my sleep time since I am on vacation. That leads to my second complaint: why turn off after 8 hours? Why not 10 or 12? I am, after all, on vacation!Okay, I am still giving this 4 stars because:A) it is completely quietB) it is easily transportableC) it is small but seems to have an impressive output of mistI may try using a Fiji water bottle tonight to see if the smaller, more compact bottle will provide a little more water given the short length of the filter. I'll report back!

I bought this because I thought it would help me be more comfortable on the long flights that I often take. I usually feel really dried out after a long flight. I bought this before my most recent trip, and I found that I didn't really use it as much as I thought I would. One reason is that it doesn't come with it's own power source. It comes with a USB adapter, so you must bring another power source with you that will last the duration of the trip (or however long you want it to last). It works well, and does what it's supposed to, but I found that I had to keep it really close to my face (within 12 inches) for me to feel the effects. On a long flight, this isn't really practical. It was also slightly broken when it arrived. That silver bottle cap-looking thing on the top was completely off. It looked like it was just glued on and the glue didn't last. This was purely aesthetic and did not affect the functioning of the item, so I didn't think it was a big deal. Also, this was mentioned in other reviews but it was not in the instruction manual that came with the item (but it should be!) - if at first, your humidifier doesn't work, wet the entire filter and try again. This fixed the problem for me. Although this product isn't quite as practical for plane rides as I expected, if you're planning to use this at your desk or next to your bed at night, I think it would be a good product.

This item is FABULOUS! I have it on my desk at work (and as a result, 4 people have ordered). Easy to use. Easy to travel with. No problems with the unit itself. Simple to set up -- open box, remove contents -- attach filter to unit-- place unit on top of a water bottle (don't have to push it down with any force) and plug unit in!! Fits perfectly on small water bottle (500 ml size) and not so good on say a vitamin water bottle. I plug the unit into an electrical outlet as opposed to USB (I use my cell phone charger plug ).Be sure to keep the filter submerged in water or the stream of steam will decrease (not rocket science...nevertheless!!). Goes thru approximately 1/2 small water bottle in an 8 hour period.LOVE the product. Wish the shipping on the filters was more reasonable though....

Prodotto fantastico! Si adatta perfettamente ad ogni bottiglietta. Rimane stabile e ben fissato. La funzione di auto spegnimento è utilissima; lo puoi tenere tranquillamente acceso tutta notte senza problemi. Non fa nessun rumore e la quantità di vapore prodotta è apprezzabile. Usato con oli balsamici funziona benissimo. Sono molto soddisfatto dell'acquisto. Come alimentatore uso un vecchio trasformatore x iPhone. Consigliatissimo!

I work in an office with airconditioning which can only be described as insanely over the top (the office space was altered after initial build, and aircon units which were meant to keep a sunward-facing corridor cool are now over our heads at this side of the building).As a result, the air where I sit is incredibly dry, the aircon literally pumps out over my head. I managed to get the temperature tackled, but the dry air has led to endless nose problems with congestion and head colds.So far, this little device (which is wonderfully unobtrusive) is doing a great job of pumping out water vapour near me, I've placed it so that it's "upwind" of me (there's a prevailing "wind", as it were). Too early to tell if it's "farewell" to the issues associated with the dry air, but one or two workmates have expressed an interest.Power adapter works fine off the powered hub on a monitor I use, doesn't appear to get too hot. I even found and recycled an orangina bottle to use with it! I use filtered ambient temperature water from the water cooler rather than the mains (this is a Thames water area, so the water is - pardon my French - merde for devices which do anything with water)
