2013 release, the first solo album in 14 years from the British singer/songwriter and Take That leader. Gary wrote all the songs for Since I Saw You Last in London and recorded them mainly between his own Future Studios and producer Steve Power's TOP Studios, with the strings arrangements captured at Abbey Road Studios. With Take That Gary Barlow can count eight #1 albums, selling more than 30 million copies, to his name. He has 15 chart-topping singles to his name as well as being the proud recipient of six Ivor Novello Awards. He was awarded an OBE for his contribution to British music last year following the work he has done with BBC Children in Need and the hugely successful Queen's Diamond Jubilee Concert.

Outstanding
This was an amazing find! Every song is beautifully written and performed. It is the best CD purchase that I have made in a long time. I highly recommend it. I am currently on a long road trip and I listen to it over and over in the car.

Brilliant! Good from beginning to end!
I really can't say enough good things about this album! I only just heard of Gary Barlow and came upon his music by listening to his duet with ABBA's Agnetha Faltskog and thought it was brilliant! I then checked out this CD and have to say that I am a true fan of his now! This album is intelligent, emotional, spiritual, pop music that runs the gamut from the pop anthem "Face to Face" (duet with Elton John) to the gut wrenching "Dying Inside" that you have to be inhuman not to get wet eyed when hearing it. Many lyrics concern his overcoming some truly overpowering misfortunes he has suffered since his early boy band days. "Requiem" and "Let Me Go" use Beatles-like rhythms to express how he coped with this daughter's stillbirth. "Since I Saw You Last" deals with his return to success from his days in the professional abyss when nobody wanted to work with him. Despite the dark places he has walked through, the overall tone is upbeat and victorious. This is an album of overcoming. Gary Barlow's voice is his greatest instrument and he is very skilled at using it to take you to the places he wants to take you. This album is great from beginning to end!

Can't figure out why he didn't make it in the USA.
Never heard of this guy until about 4 months ago. I was looking at ABBA videos on YouTube and came across one of Gary and Agnetha singing "I Should Have Followed You Home." OK, he's got my attention! Then I saw one of he and Elton John singing "Face to Face" .... alright I'm hooked now! This guy has an absolutely beautiful voice and, after watching some of his videos, he also has a very classy "presentation." This guy is truly a talented performer. The "Since I Saw You Last" CD is filled with a very nice array of songs. I guess I'd compare his style to a cross between Michael Buble and Rod Stewart (his later years stuff). The only negative I have with this CD is that it doesn't include the song with Agnetha.

Made me a fan!
I am a new Gary Barlow fan. My daughter put his song "Let Me Go" on my ipod, She had heard it when studying abroad in England and thought I'd like it. It was one of those songs that hooked me right away and I couldn't stop listening to it. His voice and the emotion that came through in the song was so intense. I ended up buying the album and I've started listening to it this week. I also love the first song, "Requiem." It does have a bit of a 'Beatles' feel to it as another reviewer pointed out ~ but it's a great song even though it seems to be written for the people who would come to his funeral. Many of these songs are sad, as someone pointed out, since he did just lose a child. I usually listen to classic rock oldies from the 60's to the 80's, so it's nice to find some new music that I enjoy.

Gary Barlow is an extraordinary talent
I discovered Gary Barlow on YouTube during the lockdown and can't get enough of his extraordinary talent. This album is simply sensational. There isn't a dud to be found anywhere. He has the most soothing voice and he has a charming way of entertaining his audiences. I would rate him above Michael Buble, which is saying a lot.

LOVE HIM!!
I LOVE this entire album. There's not one song I don't like. If you're in a cranky mood or feeling sad, listen to this with your headphones on and turned up and lose yourself in the music, in the lyrics, in Gary. He doesn't disappoint. Not ever. I 100% LOVE this so much. There aren't enough words in the English language to express how much "Since I Saw You Last" motivates, moves and touches me. He's severely underrated and underappreciated as a song writer, musician and singer.

Great Music
Great music. Love it. I became aware of Gary by way of his duet with Agnetha Falkskog. Watch his 2014 Manchester full concert on YouTube. Such talent. Queens Jubilee also on YouTube. Checking out the rest of his band mates music. Robbie Williams singing in the 2010 The Flood was powerful. Also on YouTube. Surprised these guys didn’t make a bigger splash in the US.

Oh Wow!
I'm not going to talk about each track in depth; I'll just say that Gary Barlow has gone stratospheric in my estimation!I love him in Take That and think he's written some great songs. I wasn't sure about him as a solo artist. This album takes it all to another level. His lyrics are truly beautiful and insightful - I cried on hearing Jump for the first time. The orchestration and production are superb, his voice has matured and it's clear that Gary has put his heart and soul into the whole album. Not surprising considering the personal tragedy he and his family have experienced in the last couple of years. Unlike one reviewer, I have no wish to skip from one track to the next. Listen to the lyrics - superb!Well done Gary - looking forward to the next one!PS Gary's New Year's Eve gig on tv was superb as well - beat Jools's Hootenanny by a long chalk!PPS - slight gripe with Amazon - why was the CD cheaper than the MP3 download? I don't have a cd player but thought it ridiculous to pay more for the download! Mad - it's the same product! So I got the auto-rip downlaod and will the cd to a friend....

My album of the year......
I received this CD has a Christmas present, and it has been virtually on repeat, since then. I was never a fan of Gary Barlow or Take That, first time round, and if someone said I would be buying their music, later on in life, I wouldn't have believed them. Huge respect to Mr. G.B. because he has changed my opinion completely. This is the first time I've ever played a new album and felt familiar with all songs on very first listen. The melodies are instant. There's clearly a number of musical influences from the Beatles to Elton John. It's very well produced, and vocally Gary is on top form.I think the songs are very personal and have a "biblical" theme to many of them. If Gary got his influences from "divine intervention" then we as listeners are truly blessed !For me, the best album I've heard this year, and I look forward to hearing more future solo efforts from a "King of Melody".

Gary at his best! Refreshingly different approach.
Having always liked Take That , Robbie etc.... I was really surprised when I heard this album. There are songs and melodies that are refreshingly different to main stream 'POP'.I found, what I call 'bluegrass country' very enjoyable, alongside the Elton duo there was also a number that had the Eltonesque touch.Afraid I still like songs I can hum or try to sing along to and this album is definitely one of those, some may love it others hate it, but I don't think anyone could sit on the fence!Just for reference, Requiem is now on my list of all time favorites.....Thanks Gary.

Garry Barlow The Great Artist Hits Again!
I've given this CD 5 stars despite my reservations on this album having religious roots. Most songs are religious based which I disapprove of and didn't know until after purchasing. That aside, Gary is a fabulous singer and a great song writer. His skill and tonality on this album reminds us of the songs from Take That and his last solo album. After listening to the album 10 times (which I do with all albums), I can say it's very nice, even though I skip 1 of the tracks about finding God.So it's a 5 star and recommended album.

Good CD
It's a good album, well produced. Quality CD.And please...CD every time rather than Mp3/Mp4. Compressed music is the death of real music. Once it was CD that had this tag due to its brittle delivery and the many awful transfers of analogue recordings. But CD has headroom, and has now come of age as proved by the many wonderful remasters of classics. Isn't it terrible that so many people have never listened to anything other than compressed music! So please...forget downloads and give your ears a treat.
