If you are a beginner artist this is a good paint to use. Layering is easier and if you make mistakes and don't like what you painted just start over using this paint. I blend it with white to make different shades of grey, or use just the white. Be mindful it comes in both matte or glossy, a huge difference in results. I suggest using the matte, but I do mix them too. Have fun being creative and enjoy your art!

I didn’t want to water down my expensive acrylic paint, so I bought a large bottles of this black and also a white paint. I keep a small bottle of watered down black paint to do splatters on my projects. It works well for this. I have not had any problem with leakage, and it was in perfect condition when it arrived. The color is a typical black. I am not sure how well it would do to actually paint with it.

I love apple barrel acrylic paints! The price is pretty affordable and the quality is great! The black color is very opaque and I love that. It has the perfect consistency not too think and definitely not too thin. This paint also works well with thickening addictives as well as thiners.

I started a paint by number on vacation and somehow misplaced the black paint in transit home. Purchased this to finish, and it was a little thin. It took multiple coats, but ultimately, I’m happy with the finished product. Great price point and packaged well.

I'm a dink who didn't look at the size, so this is the big bottle and you know what? I'm not mad. I use this as a base coat for all my craft stuffs so happy accidents abound! Fresh, no leaks, and it's a good solid color not thin like some other companies.

When buying supplies that children will use, it is important for me to use a product that is good quality and relatively inexpensive. Apple Barrel products have met these qualifications for many years. The color of the paint was vibrant and consistent. Some shaking may be needed after first receiving the bottle to remix the paint. Great product.

This is the BEST craft paint. The gloss looks great - see the picture. Easy soap and water clean up. Looks absolutely great. Nice looking finish. See how a brown plain basket was turned into a nice looking napkin holder. The paint is durable and doesn’t chip. You get a good amount of paint for a small price.
