ULTIKIT® 9 LED - UV Ultraviolet Flashlight/Black Light Flashlight

The Ultikit UV / Blacklight Flashlight was just an initial thought to buy something gadget-ey to add to my collection of things that I have in my house. It is small, but for a UV light it packs a might punch. I only have good things to say about the flashlight: Great illumination Compact size Easy to hold (for small or large hands, I have larger hands and it is very comfortable to use) Works exactly as described Unlike other UV/Black light flashlights that are advertised on multiple sights, this one actually delivers. Once it got delivered to my house I couldn't wait to try it out. So around my house I went with it because we have a puppy. Every spot where he went pee, even in daylight, was clearly visible with the light! To my dismay, he had gone pee in more places than I thought. Even spots where I knew blood had been in the house, or some chemical, I could easily locate. For about an hour I went around feeling like Dexter Morgan at a crime scene. Spotting anything and everything. This little light did not disappoint and actually surprised me to say the least. The light is bright enough where you can see with it also if you need to. I would easily recommend this product to anybody and especially people that love gadgets. SUPER fast delivery speed on Ultikits side also, which is always a plus! Also to note that the price point is so low on this too. Just remember that it takes Three AAA batteries (not included) but them not being included does not take away from the value of this light. I've bought horrible products for much more. Best handheld UV Flashlight that I have ever used in my life!!!

This light works, but only on lighter carpets. Anything darker will absorb the light and you won't see any reflections. We recently got a puppy, and they peed around the place. On lighter carpet, we saw his pee stains quite clearly (sickeningly so) and were able to treat those areas with protein-enzymes to remove the odor. Interestingly enough, the stains stayed (but thankfully the odors did not). This was the same with his vomit. We discovered smaller stain spots, these were left by the previous owner's cat (vomit, lovely) that we had not seen because the areas had been bleached and cleaned properly. On darker rugs where we KNOW our puppy had peed, we were unable to see anything. It seems that the darker fabric prevents the light from illuminating the proteins. I am not sure why, possibly because the spectrum these LED's illuminate aren't wide enough to cause the proteins in the carpet to reflect back. I will add that this is also good for seeing how dirty your carpet is as dirt and debris will be illuminated quite clearly. I have yet to locate an insect to try it on. For the price, this is a good deal to help spot whether or not your pet has soiled some part of the carpet or marked its territory. I would buy it again if necessary. If you need something for dark carpets though, look elsewhere!

I bought this in anticipation of using it as a blood trail light this summer. However, when checking around the house I found that its MORE than effective. In fact... I will be dusting off my carpet cleaner tomorrow afternoon. This thing highlights every little flaw. Its well build, and uses 3 AAA batteries. It was easy for me to install them. The lanyard is just a SMIDGE short for my hands, but I have big hands.

I just received this light a couple days ago and I have to say that I love it. It's surprisingly very solid considering the price, works as advertised but does its best work in dark areas. This is my first time purchasing this type of flashlight and was skeptical by some of the negative reviews I've seen on similar lights in the same price range, I really do recommend this light and I plan on ordering a few more.

I received the flashlight and was excited to put it to work..... However , upon opening the package ... I discovered the flashlight was not functional. It was incomplete. The carriage for the batteries was not inside the flashlight, I re checked the packaging. It was no where to be found. No way to power the flashlight , basically no good.... I do have another flashlight that I had to disassemble to get it's carriage out for the new flashlight.... I want another carriage ...

This light works well on our light brown carpet and the linoleum, saw many stains that that cats have left and even things that the kids have spilled. It takes 3 AAA batteries and is a sturdy piece of equipment, it sports a carrying handle and lights up all the stains like a glow stick. The Ultikit company knows what they are doing and this has a long battery life of about 40 hours. I received this in exchange for my unbiased opinion.

This is a great little UV flash light. I bought it for geocaching, so the small compact size is very helpful, Carrying around a larger flash light would add a lot of extra weight. It also has a wrist strap so you do not have to hold the flash light all the time. The flash light's UV light is bright and is effective. It seems to have a decent distance for such a small flash light. It has been helpful when you are trying to find the harder geocaches. UV flash lights illuminate a ton of things around the house as well. It is kind of gross when you see everything. It will definitely make you want to clean better. I think this is just a great little flash light overall. I would recommend it to anyone looking for a UV flash light.

Perhaps I don't understand how to use this product. Can it be more difficult than just shining on spots of urine? Our dog started to pee in the house while we were away. This product was purchased to identify all the spots to clean in an effort to stop repeat marking. In total darkness I shined the light against known spots of urine and this product showed nothing. I tried using at various distances and angles and the light showed nothing. If it can not fluoresce a known spot it is useless to identify the possible unknown ones. I gave the ULTIKIT Blacklight more than one star and returning because it is useful as a late night flash light to walk the dog without disturbing the wife.
