REVIEWING "HAZEL" ONE LAST TIME!
I've reviewed all of the other Seasons of "HAZEL". I waited until today to review this Season because Today is the 120TH BIRTHDAY of "SHIRLEY BOOTH", which everyone know PLAYED "HAZEL". This Season has Three Opening Credits, which begins with the "Camera Opening". It was also used in the "1963 Summer Reruns". Then, in the next 30 Episodes is The "Buckle-Up Opening". And the last Opening Credit is the "Toll Collector Opening", which is used at the beginning of the last Episode: "MAID FOR A DAY", for the "1964 Summer Reruns", and in Episode One in Season Four: "NEVER TROUBLE TROUBLE".Just like in Season Two this Season also has Thirty-two Episodes. And below are my interpretations of Each Episode:Episode 01: "Pot Luck A La Mode": A mix-up in Dinner Dates, with the Potential Clients, "Mr. Sudley", "Phil Ober" and his wife "Lydia", "VIRGINIA GREGG", for George's Law Firm, puts George, "DON DEFORE", in trouble with how to send "HAZEL" away, for the day.Episode 02: "AN EXAMPLE FOR "HAZEL": When George's "Cousin Gracie", "LINDA WATKINS", comes to stay with them, he hopes that "HAZEL" will become less forward.Episode 03: "DOROTHY TAKES A TRIP": Thanks to Busybody "Rosie Hammaker", "MAUDIE PRICKETT", when Dorothy goes out of town to help her Sister, Barbara, "HAZEL" mistakenly thinks that George is attracted to one of his Poker Buddie's Girlfriend, "DR. PHYLLIS GORDON", "BEK NELSON".Episode 04: "YOU AIN'T FULLY DRESSED WITHOUT A SMILE": After George helps one of "HAZEL'S FRIENDS", "MISS MINNIE", "ELLEN CORBY", straighten out some of her Business Ownership Problems, she gives him a gift that's a real eyesore. Dorothy, "WHITNEY BLAKE", does not appear in this episode.Episode 05: "CHEERIN' UP MR. B": "HAZEL" gets over the top bothersome when she tries to keep George happy and occupied. But she winds up irritating him instead. Dorothy, "WHITNEY BLAKE", doesn't appear in this episode, either.Episode 06: "PICCOLO MONDO": "HAZEL" need to have some Italian Recipes translated, so she takes Italian Lessons at Night School and winds up meeting the Handsome "Enzo Martelli", "GREGORY MORTON", whom "Rosie was smitten with.Episode 07: "HAZEL SCORES A TOUCHDOWN": When "HAZEL" finds out that George is the Lawyer for the Owners of their Town's Football Team, "Mr. Wheeler", "VINTON HAYWORTH" and "Mr. Dempsey", "WILLIS BOUCHEY", whom are feuding with each other, "HAZEL" comes up with a way to end their feud and save the Team.Episode 08: "GEORGE'S 32ND COUSIN": "HAZEL" cleverly gets George to agree to get The Baxter's house painted by getting rid of George's lazy cousin, "Sharlene", "DIANE LADD".Episode 09: "THE BABY CAME C.O.D.": "HAZEL" comes to the rescue of "David Merrick", "JAMES STACY", an exhausted Insurance Salesman by day and a Law Student at night, by enlisting some assistance from George.Episode 10: "ALL HAZEL IS DIVIDED INTO THREE PARTS": "HAZEL" maneuvers "Deirdre", "CATHY LEWIS", into holding a Charity Auction in her Garden, that will benefit "HAZEL'S And The SUNSHINE GIRL'S" FOSTER CHILD.Episode 11: "THE VANISHING HERO": A Visiting Athlete, "Zachary King", "LEIF ERICKSON", who knew George when they were younger, faulty memory causes a riff between George and "Harold", "BOBBY BUNTROCK". NOTE: This Episode was the SECOND THANKSGIVING EPISODE in this Series. There isn't much Holiday Activity. And the only food shown is a Turkey that Mr. Griffin, "HOWARD SMITH", kept pinching off of. Note: The Child Actress "JUDY ERWIN", who was "Mavis Blake", one of the "BLAKE CHILDREN", appears for the last time, as a Girl Buying Lemonade.Episode 12: "CALL ME HARVE": "Rosie", and "HAZEL" have to figure out how to get warm clothing for the sheep that Rosie's Niece, "Laurie", "ANN JILLIAN", is raising to pay for Art School, since they were sheared to early.Episode 13: "THE RETIRING MILKMAN": "HAZEL" and "DOROTHY" go to bat for a lazy MILKMAN, "Claude Waters", "STERLING HOLLOWAY", who thinks he can't be fired because of his Thirty Years of Service.Episode 14: "HAZEL'S NEST EGG": "Harold" decides not to take his "Tenderfoot Scout Test" because his friend "Leslie", "CHARLES HERBERT", couldn't pass his. So "Hazel", "George", and "Dorothy pitch in to help.Episode 15: "HAZEL AND THE HALFBACK": FAMOUS FOOTBALL PLAYER "FRANK GIFFORD" is in town to possibly invest in a local Bowling Alley. Since George is his Attorney, "HAZEL" wants him to invest in "BREWSTER'S BOLLING ALLEY", because she bowls there. This is the third episode in this Season that "Dorothy" does not appear in.Episode 16: "HAZEL AND THE MODEL T": "HAZEL'S" unexpected purchase of The Johnson's "MODEL T" helps to close a Business Deal that George has to handle between the two Business Moguls Mr. Griffin and "Joshua Egan", "MAURICE MANSON".Episode 17: "HOT POTATO A LA MODE": "HAZEL" tries to pair up "Miss Elsie", "ALICE PEARCE" and "Charlie, The Antique Dealer", MARIO SILETTI", for Matrimony, but Charlie isn't to enthused about the idea. Note: We see Dorothy running after Charlie in this episode. Dorothy is never seen running.Episode: 18: "SCHEHEREZARDE AND HER FRYING PAN, PART 1": "HAZEL'S" planned trip to California to visit her Friend "Gracie", "LINDA WATKINS", turns into a nightmare when Hazel recognizes that all of Mr. Bixby's, "ROLAND WINTERS", Guests are Gangsters.Episode: 19: "SCHEHEREZARDE AND HER FRYING PAN PART 2": "HAZEL" and "Gracie" are being held as prisoners at "The Bixby House" where "Gracie" is employed. "HAZEL" devises a way to get them rescued. NOTE: "LINDA WATKINS, played George's Cousin in the Episode: "AN EXAMPLE FOR HAZEL". There isn't any mention of their relationship in these two part episodes, though she uses the same first name.Episode 20: " THE FASHION SHOW": When Dorothy injures herself, while practicing her Modeling, "HAZEL" unexpectantly takes her place, which fiercely upsets Deirdre. I'm not sure, but I think "ACTRESS CHRISTIAN KAY" may have played one of the "Models" at Deirdre's Fashion Show, as Model "Helen Blair". Unfortunately the Model's Name is not mentioned on the Ending Credits. Neither is it on the IMDb for this episode. "CHRISTIAN KAY" appeared on "MY THREE SONS", "BLUE HAWAII", AND "THE BRASS BOTTLE".Episode 21: "GEORGE'S ORDEAL": "HAZEL" bets Rosie her new "MINK HAT" that she can get George to lose ten pounds. The hat was attractive. And it did look beautiful on "HAZEL".Episode 22: "THE RELUCTANT WITNESS": Dorothy has to prove that a Client "Mrs. Osborn", "GRETCHEN HALE", wanted the colors that she was against and she is threatened with a lawsuit. But when she and "HAZEL" learns that a Tax Assessor, "Miss Ramsey", "MABEL ALBERTSON", overheard the entire conversation, they have to convince her to prove Dorothy's innocence.Episode 23: "DEMOCRACY AT WORK": The time for "HAZEL" to ask for a raise has come around again and she starts her campaigning. But when an important situation come, she declines her raise.Episode 24: "THE COUNTESS": When Deirdre finds out that "HAZEL" may be "Countess" she wants to be the one who introduces her into "High Society", by arranging an Extravagant Party. NOTE: Deirdre has White Hair in this episode.Episode 25: "HAZEL'S MIDAS TOUCH": "HAZEL" annoys a Famous Author, "Mr. Cady", played by "LEO G. CARROLL", who is also an "Art Collector", whose Collection George had been trying to get for "The Art Museum".Episode 26: "EVERYBODY'S A COMEDIAN": "HAZEL" tries to get around the fact that she need Glasses. But her resistance to getting Glasses pays off for George when she gets the information on a Telegram wrong.Episode 27: "ALL MIXED-UP": " HAZEL" agrees to do Commercials for one of George's Client's, "Mr. Buckley", "ALAN HEWITT". Then when unpleasant changes start happening at The Baxter's House, it almost destroys her.Episode 28: "ARRIVEDERCI, MR. B.: The Niece, "Carla", "LUCIANA PALUZZI", of Charlie, HAZEL'S FRIEND, is trying to keep her Mother-in-Law from trying to gain custody of her child just because she doesn't speak much English.Episode 29: "SUCH A NICE LITTLE MAN": "Willie Gaffney", "BYRON FOULGER", who follows "HAZEL" home, goes to work for "The Johnsons", "Harriet and Herbert", "NORMA VARDEN" and "DONALD FOSTER". Then when an item at "The Johnsons" come up missing Willie is suspected.Episode 30: "CAMPAIGN MANAGER": THE Picnic Grounds are in danger of becoming an area for a Factory. So after "HAZEL" Petitions against The Factory, George is talked into running for City Councelman.Episode 31: "LETS GET AWAY FROM IT ALL": "THE BAXTER'S OUTING" for Dinner becomes an Unforeseen Adventure.Episode 32: "MAID FOR A DAY": "HAZEL" purposely wears Deirdre out, while coaching her on how to "Act like a Maid", after she is cast as a Maid in a Charity Play. MY FAVORITE EPISODES IN THIS SEASON ARE:EPISODE 01: POT LUCK A LA MODEEPISODE 06: PICCOLO MONDOEPISODE 15: HAZEL AND THE HALFBACKEPISODE 16: HAZEL AND THE MODEL TEPISODE 18: SCHEHEREZARDE AND HER FRYING PAN, PART 1EPISODE 19: SCHEHEREZARDE AND HER FRYING PAN, PART 2EPISODE 31: LETS GET AWAY FROM IT ALLEPISODE 32: MAID FOR A DAYAs these are ending thoughts on the show: "HAZEL", recently I looked up the ACTOR "JOHN NEWTON", who played "STANLEY BLAKE", THE BAXTER'S Next Door Neighbor, passed away nearly Six Years ago on November 28, 2012. He was 87 Years Old. He was Born on November 02, 1925, which was three months and 18 Days before Whitney Blake. THE Child Actor "Paul Engle", who played his Oldest son "Don" on "HAZEL", passed away three years later on November 05, 2015. He was 67 Years Old. Two days ago I wanted to find out if John had appeared on "MSquad", which starred "Lee Marvin". That was when I learned of his Death. The odd thing is this information about his death has only recently been revealed. Unfortunately I haven't any further information of his death. Also THE CREATOR OF "HAZEL", "TED KEY" AND "DON DEFORE" BOTH SHARED THE SAME BIRTHDAY" WHICH WOULD HAVE BEEN ON AUGUST 25TH. TED WOULD HAVE BEEN 106 YEARS OLD. AND DON WOULD HAVE BEEN IO5 YEARS OLD. THEN EARLIER THIS MONTH "BOBBY BUNTROCK" WOULD HAVE CELEBRATED HIS BIRTHDAY WITH 66 CANDLES ON AUGUST 04. And I would bet that a lot of "Fans of Don Defore's" does not know that Both OfHis Sons were Born IN AUGUST. "DAVID DEFORE", DON'S OLDEST SON'S BIRTHDAY, WAS ON AUGUST 22. HE IS 73 YEARS. AND "RON DEFORE", WHO APPEARED IN THE FIRST EPISODE IN SEASON ONE OF "HAZEL": "HAZEL AND THE PLAYGROUND", appeared as one of the Boys, Playing Football. He was the Player with the "Number 7" on his Football Shirt. He was the only Player who had a Number on his Shirt. His Birthday was also on AUGUST 25TH. He is "68 Years Old". I'm Happy to have contributed to the reviews of this Wonderful Old Show. I hope that everyone enjoys "My Reviews".

When families were innocent with heart.
I enjoyed watching the Baxter family with their simply worried troubles and poor "Mr. B." tolerance of Hazel, her being perfect in everything. I enjoyed the show and felt sorry for Mr. Baxter endurance of Hazel meaning well annoying.

Strutting her stuff in Season Three
"Hazel" looks outstanding in Season Three...so another big thanks to Shout Factory! for releasing another season of this much-beloved sitcom. For such an old series, the episodes look fantastic. A few of them have some dirt and grime but for a 50-year old show, "Hazel" has probably never looked better. As sitcoms age, it is common to notice weaknesses in the writing but that isn't the story with Season Three of "Hazel." There are a few clunkers here, but most of the stories are creative and we see more and more of Hazel Burke interacting with neighbors and the community at large. Shirley Booth continues to be amazing, and it really seems the award-winning actress was just hitting her stride. Seldom can an actress bring such a wide range of emotions to a viewer, but when her lips tremble and she breaks into tears, I found myself also feeling sad for her. But there are way more laughs here than tears; her relationship with Mr. B. is explored more, especially on the first disk, in a three-episode arc when Whitney Blake was noticeably absent. If anyone knows the background story behind her absence during those first few episodes of this third season, I'd be curious to know the details. There are also a few guest-starring roles of note, most notcieably a very, very young Diane Ladd as an annoying family cousin that will have viewers saying to themselves that she looks just like her daughter, Laura Dern.I can't laud Shout Factory! enough for releasing the second and third seasons of this sitcom...and hope they will release the remaining two seasons. Those of us that are fans of classic television will be forever grateful. If you enjoyed the first two seasons of "Hazel", you won't be disappointed with Season Three.

Hazel and Mr."B" Deserve an A!
As a child, I remember loving this show, along with the other classics of the late 1950s and 1960s. Although too young to remember some of them, I was old enough to remember Hazel. The show revolves around the adventures of this extraordinary Housekeeper/Maid and her uncanny ability to always make things turn out right. The family consists of "Mr. B" the attorney and head of the family, although if truth be known, I always felt Hazel was the one in charge. Missy, George's wife, has known Hazel since she was a child and is the perfect complement to her husband. An interior decorator with excellent taste, she and Hazel have a very loving relationship and Missy can be counted on to run interference when Hazel and Mr. B butt heads. Then there is the adorable Harold, better known as "Sport," who is such a sweet little boy who worships Hazel and considers her a hero. The acting is superb and the storylines are anything but sappy. This series proves that wholesome programs have a place in society and with it, there is always a valuable lesson to be learned. Kudos to Shirley Booth, Don DeFore, Whitney Blake and Bobby Buntrock for delivering a beautiful and entertaining story to the viewers in every episode. And while all of them are no longer with us, it is comforting that their brilliance is on record and the days when the simple things were the best can truly live on!
