this works so well on my gate. i already had spring close hinges but they were weak in the wind and would slam the gate shut. so i added this and it works like a charm. i have it set to close fast at first and then slow close the last few inches. it keeps my gate firmly closed while unlocked, and it aligns the automatic locking deadbolt perfectly

The TB175Black Gate Closer, is a good value , where over head closers can not be used, the Amazon seller needs to match the Lockey web site, as it says you must use a GS-90 Gate Stop.We used it on a fairly heavy metal gate , that wife just love and was worried about how the closer would look on the gate, but the balck one looks pretty good, but we will be painting it the same color as the gate.The instructions could be improved in a few areas as other have commented on the instructions, the closer comes with with two sets of screws, it would be nice if that was spelled out in the instructions, we used the self tapping metal screws since we had a metal gate, the other set of crews are for wood and vinyl ?Also it would be nice if the instructions are clear that clockwise slows the gate and counter clockwise increases the speed, for both latching and closing speeds.I found the hole for the adjustment did not allow me to adjust the closer because of the angle once installed, so.. I just removed the cover with adjustment hole , I would rather just have a square cap that is removable since I could not use the adjustment hole any way. Also the hole allows debris and water to get into the closer, so... a plug for the hole would be nice and or just square cap with no hole.It was very simple to install , with these few tips will make the install go even easier, and more useable product.

The four screws to attach the closer to the post are pretty flimsy. They tore out of the post in a week. The screws need to be about 2-1/2 inches long. The ones that came with it were about 3/4 inches long.

Not sure why one would leave less than 5 stars. It does what it says, plus can be easily propped open for carrying in groceries by opening it to 90°. I didn’t realize it had that feature which is really nice. I have it set to where it closes extremely slowly so it doesn’t slam my gate which is exactly what I was looking for. This is a great price even if I have to replace occasionally due to rain (don’t get a lot of rain in Southern California where I live). I’d suggest using WD-40 after rain to avoid rust if that is a worry for you.

This thing worked so well until one day we started hearing our gate slamming louder than it ever has before. Turns out the device decided to switch its pressure, so it began slamming our gate super hard. I tried to reverse it back to normal but it’s definitely broken. The product doesn’t seem to last long outside.

This gate closer works perfectly! It closes the gate smoothly and securely every time. Installation was simple, and the adjustable tension is a great feature. The build quality feels solid and durable. A must-have for keeping gates closed without slamming. Highly recommend!

The device closes my gate slowly and keeps it closed most of the time. On windy days the gate will come open a bit if not latched because the gate closer doesn't put enough pressure to keep it closed.Also I couldn't get the gate hold open feature to work at all. It comes with a screw to put in if you want the hold open feature which sort of held the gate open a couple times and then just failed to stay open afterwards.

The media could not be loaded. installed in about 15 minutes. seems to work as expected. no more slam bam noises just a click of the latch. my install used concrete screws but included wood screws should be fine for most cases. for my use i just left the close latch speed at factory setting.
