The Billionaire's Claim: Obsession Paperback – April 24, 2018

I'm finally getting around to writing this review, even though I read this book (and its companion, THE BILLIONAIRE'S CLAIM: REDEMPTION), a while back. (Yes, I was super-busy, but that's really no excuse.)I'm a big fan of Nadia Lee's--she never disappoints. I have favorite authors who, on occasion, disappoint me with a book or two. That has never happened with Ms. Lee. I won't lie--as with every author/reader pairing, some of her books connect emotionally with me more than others, but they're always good. Always at least a four-star read.In the case of THE BILLIONAIRE'S CLAIM: OBSESSION and its sister book THE BILLIONAIRE'S CLAIM: REDEMPTION, however, I have no hesitation giving them five-star reviews (which I rarely give).I'll admit I waited until the second book of the duet was released before buying both. (Something I've recently learned is NOT the way to encourage the author to complete a series! But I digress.) I'm not usually a fan of cliff-hangers, and I hate waiting to find out what happens in the next installment--I would never have survived the serial movies of my father's growing-up years in the early part of the last century. (I digress again.) I'm not talking about stand-alone books that are connected, such as the Harry Potter series. I'm talking books that aren't stand-alones, that can't be read independently of each other.That said, at least the author was up front about the cliff-hanger aspect (some aren't, and that totally ticks me off). And because it was Nadia Lee (who never disappoints, remember?) I gave these books a shot, and was so glad I did! (By the way, this isn't Ms. Lee's first duet of this nature, but by the time I "discovered" her all her other duets were completed, so I was able to buy them together without waiting.)Could these two books have been combined into one? Sure. But many readers (including me) have price-point limits, and won't even consider a book (no matter how long) if it's priced accordingly...even though buying two books in a duet are essentially the same cost as one book at the higher price! (It's a mental block for me.) So I can't criticize Ms. Lee for breaking this story into two.Other reviewers have gone into great detail about the plot of THE BILLIONAIRE'S CLAIM: OBSESSION, so I won't. Besides, I hate spoilers. Suffice it to say I devoured it in one sitting (staying up late into the night), and have since gone back to re-read favorite sections that resonated with me.Did I cry? Oh yes. (That's a key differentiator between a four-star book and a five-star book for me.) My heart broke for both the hero and heroine...not to mention the hero's sister. The conflict of the story was incredible, and I couldn't imagine how Ms. Lee would manage (in the second book of the duet) to bring the hero and heroine back together, but she did. I also wanted to smack the hero upside the head at the end of THE BILLIONAIRE'S CLAIM: OBSESSION, because...well...you'll have to read it to understand.Note that I gave THE BILLIONAIRE'S CLAIM: OBSESSION "only" 4.75 stars (rounded up to 5.0), not because it didn't deserve the higher rating, but because it wasn't *quite* as good in my estimation as THE BILLIONAIRE'S CLAIM: REDEMPTION, and I had to somehow differentiate between the two. <g>

I have found my new favorite author!! I laugh out loud on some parts and cry on other parts. But the parts I love the most are recurring characters from previous books. So I highly recommend Nadia Lee's books. I am terrified of finishing all her books. Guess I will start them all over. This is Elizabeth's story, part 1. With her being I almost all previous books. So now on to book 2. Yay!!!

This is Elizabeth's story. If you have read the "Brides of Convenience" series, you have read about her brothers. If you haven't read it there will be some spoilers if you read this one first. This one has a huge CLIFFHANGER. The steamy scenes and the jumping through time are cohesive to the story and not jarring.

I could not put this "book" down! The drama, excitement, and range of emotions are perfectly articulated, which draws you in. Love the ending!

I Freaking Love everything about this book, from the cover all the way to the back!!!! I could just stare at this cover for days on end!!!!!Dominic and Elizabeth are just absolutely perfection together but because of the past they haven't spoken in 10 years! Their relationship ended in a bitter end. So, fastward to the present they are at odds with one another. Dominic wants his pound of flesh and he's out destroy Elizabeth. Will he be to late when he realizes that the past isn't what he thought?My heart has broken for both these characters. I genuinely felt what each character has went through. There is a alot angst in this book. But, there is so much passion between these characters. There were times I thought was going to have to put my Kindle in the freezer!!!! It was getting Hot!!!!Nadia Lee, I do believe this is my all time favorite book you have done this far!!!! Believe me when I say, I have had alot of your books as my favorite but this one really takes the number one spot! But......You gutted me in the end! I wasn't expecting it to end the way it did!!!! I mean, I just need to know more with this book!!! Why did you have to leave me hanging like this, with that cliffhanger? I was like, I know she just didn't do this to me!!!! But, you did. I'm like how long do I have to wait for the next book? So, I come on Goodreads to see when it is going to come out and the book isn't listed, yet!!!! You are killing me with this!!!!This book is a masterpiece and deserves all the Stars and awards of the whole world!!!!

You always want the happily ever after and the escape into a novel that gives you twists and turns and a continued ending…great read

I was so caught up in this book I couldn't put it down. Thank goodness I had leftovers for our supper or we'd been eating pbj sandwiches. Wow wow wow!

I loved the book. It was absolutely heartbreaking. I cried, It kept me hoping for the best for Elizabeth. The fact that she was able to out game the master manipulator had me cheering her on. My heart ached for her. Amazing story would definitely recommend it....

I don't think a review would be sufficient to express the storm inside me. Oh god the way she loves him has my eyes watering and heart slamming inside my chest. Can't wait to dive into the next book to know what happens.

Love the way Nadia Lee keeps me wanting to read more, I feel like I know the characters. The twists and turns stop me putting down my iPad. Will be sad when the series finally ends.

The bright and carefree angel who devotes herself to help those in need. Behind this mask is a shattered woman that has been hurt too many times in the past. A woman who still is so strong to protect the people she loves. And inside still a girl that just wishes to be loved and protected by that one man!I really loved this book and the long wait was definitely worth it. Can't wait for the second part!

Having waited a while for Elizabeth’s story it did not disappoint!!! So much going on that has cleverly been hidden in the previous books. And what a cliff hanger! Can’t wait for the second book to come out and for Elizabeth and Dominic to get their HEA!! 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Excellent read struggled to put it down, highly recommend this writer I'm looking forward to more books from her. Happy reader
