4 year old leved it once he would actually listen to it.....
I bought this book for my extremely picky eater since it had very good reviews. To be honest, I wasn't all that impressed with the book initially, and my 4 year old son did not even want me to read it the first 2 times. But under duress I got him to get through the book and now we have to read it every night and he takes it to pre-school for his teachers to read. He loves it. It's funny to hear him say it along with me now too. He is still very picky but we can get him to at least try a few things here and there with a lot coercion - I always bring up the book and the monsters eating broccoli too and he laughs.

Great Book
My kids love this book! They chant “fum foe fie fee monster don’t eat broccoli” throughout the day! I was worried they would miss the message and not want to eat broccoli. It had the opposite effect, my kids draw pictures of broccoli and pretend to make it in our play kitchen!

and they and their children loved it. One of these single mothers mentioned
I'm 48 years old and childless, but I shared this book with a couple single mothers in my apartment complex, and they and their children loved it. One of these single mothers mentioned, "Though, to tell the truth, my daughter actually *likes* broccoli."To which I responded, "Dear God, what is wrong with that child?"(Full disclosure to my 5-star rating: I am related to the author. We've never met in real life, as far as I can recall, though. But I really did get a kick out of this book, and really did share it with neighbors with small children.)

new favorite
My 3 year old if officially obsessed with this book. We read it 3 times a day. I have yet to see if it has her eat more broccoli (she already would) but it's a really fun rhyme.

Lovely story that the students loved. This can easily turn into a lesson on how good healthy foods can be for k thru 5th. Use this as a tool to introduce vegetables into any child's diet and it will make a difference! Good buy, great pictures and nice price!
