really impressed with the overall product, however the strap is way too long and we have had to sew it back by a good 5 inches for it to fit. Other than that it works well.

We bought one of these for our large labrador a year ago. The coat is well made and seems tough enough. Nothing is coming apart. It was the only 'harness coat' that we could find and the slits generally work well though, as someone else has said, it can be a bit fiddly to find the ring of the harness underneath the coat. My only real criticism is that the coat is not made either in a larger size or with a longer neck strap. We bought the biggest 30" version and, whilst it fits around the tummy ok, the velcro neck strap is really too short and so only a small amount connects with the corresponding velcro on the coat. This means that, if you pull on the harness from behind the front of the coat can pop open which can be a pain. It's disappointing that a larger size isn't made or, alternatively, that there isn't a more generous length of strap at the front. Other than this issue it is a well made smart coat and, we think, good value for money.

Ordered a large size to get the length right but on a spaniel the chest strap is much too long. Remedied it with an extra bit of Velcro- just a shame Velcro doesn’t already extend the length of the strap. But best coat I’ve found in terms of length for a springer spaniel who tends to have a long body.

These coats feature three slits which can be used to attach a lead to the harness. The flaps over the slits prevent the rain getting in, but it can be hard to find the harness attachment rings when putting the dog back on the lead after a walk, especially with cold wet hands! We worked around this by tying a short length of string to the harness and passing it through the slit - pull the string to bring out the rings to clip the lead on. Apart from that the coats seem well made. They have hi-vis strips but it seems the colours are on the Henry Ford model - anything you like as long as it's black.

Although I love the coat itself, it is the fit thats a bit off, I have a cross breed Pug and it fits around the middle but I had to buy some velcro and sew it on as the part across the front was about 2" too small and wouldn't close. the part where the lead goes into the flap is a little tight also, but not sure if it is my lead. The finish on the coat is very good though and if they were a little more generous with the front piece and made the lead slots a little bigger it would be a great coat. very happy with it

I purchased this item as i wanted a coat my dog could wear over her harness.In theory this seems a great item but sadly in reality it is not. I agree with a previous review that the front fastening is too short - this makes the coat bunch at the front exposing the dogs back end. Maybe going one size larger would fix this? My issue with the coat though is that the holes where you are supposed to fix the lead are so small and tight it makes it difficult to attach the lead ...pointless ...maybe the coat I received was faulty?I am returning and hope to find something similar

Lovely quality but a bit challenging to get lead through one of the 3 holes to access harness. Also the sizing is a bit tight, I have a Jack Russell under 11 kilos and although plenty long enough it is a very tight fit around the body. I am keeping it and may try to lengthen the straps to fit better but there is little other choice of coats for harness wearers on the market.

As many of the reviewers pointed out, it's too small. To be more precise the velcro straps are too short, the coat itself seem to fit. Other than that, the coat is very good quality, feels very warm and cozy, the gaps for the lead are well insulated. It has a handy label for writing your dog's and your names on it.
