Desmond P-50 50mm QR Lens/Camera Body Plate Arca Compatible and D-Ring P50 DP-50

Not sure that there's a whole lot to say about a QR plate, but I will say that it works very well for my purposes. I have a Nikon D7000 with a Markins Q3 ball head, with the screw lock connector plate. This plate locks into my head tightly and securely. When tightened down (which is easy to do with the handle included on the screw), it does not spin or work loose on my camera. I highly recommend this plate if you have a similar setup to me. If you have a lever-activated Arca-Swiss head, I can't speak to its fit, but it fits without a problem on the screw-lock one!Update: 3/6/13I do have to say that I've noticed that the plate does slip a little bit on the bottom of my Nikon D7000 and the battery grip for that camera. I've found it can twist a little bit if I have the friction on my ballhead set on the tight side. I'm curious if some of the custom ones (with a lip on one side) would do better. I still think it's a good value for general use, but I no longer would say that it doesn't spin. I have not noticed it working loose at all, however. I do not doubt it will hold my camera, just that when moving the camera around, it can twist a little bit.

I recently switched from the Manfrotto to Arca-style quick release system. These plates are high quality, and the D-ring on the screw is very handy if you have to change equipment. I try to keep a dedicated plate on every camera body and long lens.The rubber inserts grip large lenses and full-size camera bodies firmly. The Sony NEX-5n has very little surface area on the bottom of the camera and it barely touches the rubber areas, so the camera can twist on the plate very easily. I added an aluminum plate to the QR plate that butts up against the back of the NEX, so it can't twist. This kind of mod is almost impossible on the Manfrotto plate. I realize that there are dedicated NEX-Arca plates, but I'm happy with this solution.

This piece works great with the intended base, but I have to say I lost some trust with this. Do NOT walk too far with this connected to the base. I went a distance of maybe 200ft with lots of awkward climbing and going down steep hills in that distance and this came loose!!!! If I didn't notice in time I could have had my camera fall off. So be weary. If I find this happening 1 more time I'll knock my review on this to 1 start and look for a different mechanism

I purchased a travel tripod (http://www.amazon.com/MeFoto-Travel-Tripod-Kit-A0350Q0R/dp/B0083Z41QI/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1402595871&sr=8-1&keywords=red+mefoto+backpacker) and discovered that the included mounting plate requires the use of an (included) allen wrench. Since I alternate between attaching the mounting plate to a long lens vs. the camera itself, I preferred something that could be removed without the use of a tool.Unlike many other add-on mounting plates, this one may be loosened and tightened by hand, using the included D-ring. In addition to the D-ring, there is still a place to use a flat-blade screwdriver if need be.I'm pleased with my purchase and (while it's more expensive than many plates lacking a D-ring), I would buy it again.

Works fine with one caveat: if you use an ARCA Swiss type head that features a spring-loaded safety pin retracted using a button, you will have to press said button while inserting this plate as it features safety screws in lieu of the angled side that would allow you to click the plate in place over that safety pin. For these heads you will also have to remove the safety screws as the head will most likely not feature the corresponding depression.

I use a lever clamp with Kirk plates. This plate is a bit smaller than the Kirk ones, so the plate slides around in my lever clamp even when locked down. There shouldn't be an issue if you use a normal screw type clamp.I purchased this plate to use as a backup and my lever clamp is adjustable, so the fit issue isn't the end of the world to me.Another thing: The plate comes with the safety stops screwed in. If you don't have the correct size hex key/wrench you might not be able to get them out. Luckily I had a torx screwdriver that was close enough in size to remove them.

The plate itself is fine. I have the Arca Swiss p0 with the flip lock. I bought this plate and the DP-60. The DP-60 fits nice and snug, this one doesn't even come close to fitting. The plates are visibly different widths. I suppose if you're using a screw-down mechanism it might be fine, but it totally doesn't work for me. I'll just order another DP-60 and hope for the best. I suppose getting half of them the right size is good enough if they're a quarter the price of the big-name plates?

The plate appears to be good quality materials and fit easily onto my Sirui G-20X Ball Head after removing the screws on the bottom of the plate. It is a little smaller than the Sirui plate that came with the tripod head but suitable for a mirror less camera (Olympus, Panasonic, Sony) or a smaller DSLR. The 1/4" screw was smooth and finished well and attached easily to the bottom plate of my camera. Good value for the money.

サンウェイフォトのクランプ（DDC-60LとDDC-G1）と組み合わせて使ってます。レール幅は約39mmです。カメラ取り付け面のラバーが少し頼りになさげですが、今の所はズレたり剥がれたりと言った不具合は無いです。脱落防止ストッパーのネジは増し締めしておけば、外れてしまう心配は少なくなります。最近は低価格の汎用Ｌ型プレートも出回っており、それらとの価格差を考えると特に安価ではありませんので☆3つにしました。

テクニカルビューカメラのチタン製は２万円はしたと思います。それらの価格のものと同様の精度で、安心して使えるものです。中国製の加工精度、素材の質は以前とは比較にならないほど向上しています。兵器もきっと格段の進歩があるでしょう。侮ってはいけません。

カメラ止めネジのノブが華奢で思いっきり締めると折れそうな感じもするので、ノブだけで締めようとすると確実に緩むのではと思います。(しかもノブが握り辛い)　締め込む時はコインなりコイン型のドライバーをきちんと使えばしっかりと締まり確実に固定されるとおもいます。落下防止ネジも付いていてしっかりとした出来でこの金額は驚異です。色々な大きさも出てるようなので試してみたいですね。

見た目は高精度でよい感じだったのですけれど、使用したら落下防止用のねじが一つ知らないうちにはずれて紛失していました。もう一つのねじも緩んでいました。ねじの締め付けが悪いのでしょうか……それさえなければ問題ないです。

大型のカメラやレンズでは不安かもしれませんが、最近のコンパクトデジカメや他の機材では、これで充分です。純正品は持っていないので互換性が大丈夫かは保障できませんが、アルカスイス互換の複数のアリミゾで問題になったことはありません。何度かに分けて、購入していますが、底値のときにまとめ買いしておけば、と後悔しているくらい、気に入っています。
