Smells like motor oil!
I ordered this for a party, and the burlap smelled like motor oil, and left an oily residue on the table when I just cut it and left it there overnight. I would have returned it, but I missed my window by 2 days. I had ordered early because of COVID shipping problems we had encountered with other items, but the party was weeks later. The weight and quality was fine if you are having an outdoor party only, but I wouldn’t use near candles!!

Amazing!
BEAUTIFUL! We had an anniversary party in my backyard & this was long enough that it fit over 4 8’ tables! Perfect!

Burlap Runner
I was looking for window valances for a farmhouse we're restoring. They were very expensive. To match the setting and the era, I decided upon burlap. This runner worked out beautifully for making my valances. I did not have to overlock the top or bottom. Just turned the top under and sewed it to fit a curtain rod. They are beautiful. Great price, too.

Good looks, value (Garden use, not table)
Since I am using the burlap in my garden for the first time, I cannot speak to durability yet. It has been used as a covering for pathways; installed over strips of cardboard using 6" metal landscape grade staples on firm ground. Darkens over time, no rips, runs, or shrinkage. Long term not a good path option, but good, I think, for a garden summer season. It will come up in the autumn(New England) so will see how it holds up then. Gives a neat, finished look to a more formal veg plot.

Great value for the price.
Looks great as a table runner, is a nice weave, little shedding and cut easily to fit our table w/out leaving a mess at the edge. Really pleased w/the purchase and for the amount on this roll I will not have to purchase any more for ages.

It did have a smell but worked fine for outdoors
I does have a chemical kind of smell but since I saw that in the reviews, I let them air out for a few days. We were using them outdoors so it was fine. The roll was easy to cut.

Flammable with fumes alone!
AWFUL fumes, we aired it out outside in wintery air, but it stinks like fuel, I cannot even wash it, because of the stuff it leaves behind, it will ruin my washer.

Recommended for outdoor use only.
Listing was accurate for product however it’s not recommended to use around food or dining runner. Immediately upon opening there was an immense chemical smell along with the jute fibers dusting around in the air.I wound up using outdoors for fall decor.

Stinks!!
Smells horrible! You can’t put this on a table with food. It was so unbearable, I keep it outside until I find a way to make it smell better. Too much trouble, not happy!

Good for Bee Attic
Ya....I'm not into the whole wedding table thing, but this was decent amount to use as "insulation" in my langstroth beehive for winter. Burlap soaks the moisture up as heat rises - the width of this made it easy for rolling out and cutting required amount. Should have enough for a few hives next year.

Smells really bad
The product smells like petroleum. I tried washing it with powder detergent (which bleached some parts), liquid dish soap, soaking it in white vinegar, and dousing it in fabric softener. Nothing I did got rid of the smell. Airing it out gave it the illusion that the smell went away, but it came back once I rolled up the product again. I will probably use this as an isle runner or outdoor garland, but I would never use this on a table near food. It's such a shame, because it is so well made. Excellent quality- if not for the smell (which may be the nature of jute).
