These Frank A Edmunds hoops are of high quality. The wood is a nice hardwood and finished silky smooth. No snagging like the average wood hoop. Unfortunately, it arrived with only the outer ring, no inner, so I had to return. I do have others and love them.

Yes, it is a thin diameter or thickness of frame, yet it does the job. I needed a smaller frame and this one is doing the job. These are just not made as well as the old ones. Still decent for the job.

I found I liked wooden hoops better than the hard plastic that has been popular of late. I finally broke down and bought these german hoops; I'm sorry I didn't buy them sooner since I have I now use the two I bought exclusively. Will donate my plastic and cheaper wooden hoops to my local thrift store.

Does not look like an authentic Frank A Edmunds hoop. Poorly package probably caused some of the damage. However the finish is poor and the hardware looks slightly different. Waste of fuel to ship to customer and then have to ship it back to Amazon. ShamefulDo not recommend!

Though a bit pricey, this hoop is totally worth the cost. It doesn't slip, has smooth edges that hold the fabric securely without snagging, and is sturdy enough to last a long time without needing replaced. If you don't want a flimsy hoop, this is the one for you.
