Learn EMG: An Interactive Quiz Approach to Electrodiagnostic Interpretation 1st Edition

I am a practicing neurologist and electromyographer and I think Dr Devon Rubin produces a very high quality learning material on the subject, the best of what I have encountered so far. I have his AANEM cases and his textbook as well.

So far so good though has only just arrived.

I had the pleasure of reviewing Dr. Rubin’s Learn EMG DVD. I found this DVD to be very comprehensive from basic electrophysiology relevant to the day to day activities of electrodiagnosticians to some of the more unusual and rare diseases that most electrodiagnosticians will not come across.The interactive approach was very refreshing and allowed the practitioner to review at their own pace. Dr. Rubin’s commentary was succinct and to the point. The video was very clear. Some of the screen shots of video screens with nerve conduction data were a little difficult to read but most all were able to be interpreted with a little extra effort.This approach is an excellent form of review for anyone taking the ABEM certification exam or re-certification exam, or if a resident in training, the annual AANEM SAE exam. Though the information provided was extremely comprehensive, it is not for the brand new trainee, as some basic level of understanding is still needed to make the DVD a useful tool. Anybody with some basic understanding (a trainee with some clinical neuromuscular/electrodiagnostic experience), or especially for those residents with more advanced experience, fellows, or practicing clinicians will find this DVD to be an excellent tool for increasing their knowledge base, as well as reviewing key concepts.

This is an amazing tool for both the rookie and experienced EMGer. The interactive nature and the clear, concise explanations are incredibly helpful and easy to use. If you could spend your money on one tool to learn or review EMG, I would recommend this because of its comprehensive nature and excellent examples.
