i get a huge amount of books from the library on one topic. i then go through all of them looking for the best book for my standard reference work on that topic. that is how i found this book, which is now my standard reference work for mixed media collage in books. the pictures are marvelous, which is a MUST with any art book. there is also a comprehensive listing of materials and a series of projects. The paper dolls appealed to me hugely as did the shrines and the fuseable wall hangings. this book would also be good for quilters who are looking to branch out into mised media. i recommend this book hugely. there are patterns for every project at the back of the book with enlargement specifications.Visit my blog with link given on my profile page here or use this phonetically given URL (livingasseniors dot blogspot dot com). I haven't done much with this book yet. It is one I originally found in the library and wanted to have it for the book creation instructions.Interesting projects especially 3 dimensional paper projects. It seems to have good descriptions of how to do things.There are template at the back of the book.

This book will make you enthused and it's just a great book. I'm thinking one of the classics for mixed media. It's a book you must have for your library. She does use her collage for 3-D projects that are just delightful. She has a design for a doll that is moveable at the joints using scrap booking rivets or grommets.She has her recipe for fusion fabric and fibers. This is really rich and inspiring for you fiber artists.Then her jewelry is beautifully abstract. ( And I don't like abstract!)Angelina fabric is so shiny and sparkly--she has a recipe!I love my copy and it's a staple!!! Thank you Jane DaviesKay

This is one of my favorite books! Lots of ideas if you are a mixed media artist !

I just got this book today. It's chock full of great mixed media techniques. Jane works with paper, fabric, tissue, makes her own boxes, shrines and paper dolls...and that's not all. Lots of fun projects, ideas and templates. She has a great way of writing as if you were having a conversation with her in person. I like that personal style.

Mit dieser vorgestellten Technik werden kleinere Objekte erstellt, die mit Fotos fast schon selbsterklärend sind. Am Ende des Buches befinden sich dann die Schablonen und Vorlagen zum Fotokopieren zu den einzelnen Objekten.In Mixed Media-Technik werden z.B. eine hübsche Papiertasche gefertigt, ein Akkordeon-Buch, Schachteln, Einbände für Bücher und das Buchbinden erklärt, verschiedene Embellishments gemacht, Bilderrahmen sowie einen selbstgemachten Shrine bearbeitet.Die Ideen sind sehr hübsch, die Erklärungen nachvollziehbar.Ich blättere immer wieder sehr gerne in dem Buch für weitere Inspirationen und kann es jedem empfehlen, der in das Gebiet von Mixed Media einsteigen bzw. die Arbeit mit Papier und Stoff näher kennenlernen möchte.
