Great Homemade Ice Cream—Just Needs a Bit of Patience
Great Homemade Ice Cream—Just Needs a Bit of Patience I’ve been using the Cuisinart 2 Qt Ice Cream Maker, and overall, it’s a solid machine. It’s super easy to use—just freeze the bowl ahead of time, pour in your mixture, and let it churn. In about 20–25 minutes, you’ve got smooth, delicious ice cream, sorbet, or frozen yogurt. The 2-quart size is perfect for families or entertaining, and clean-up is pretty straightforward. The only thing to note is you must freeze the bowl for at least 24 hours beforehand for the best results, so it’s not exactly spontaneous. Also, the motor can be a bit loud while running, but nothing too crazy. All in all, it’s a great buy if you love homemade ice cream and don’t mind a little prep time!

Excellent product
Best thing we ever did was to buy this! Now we can control the sugars that go into our ice cream. Easy to use and cleanup is great!

Excellent machine! Quick and great size!
Excellent ice cream maker! Fantastic size and made the ice cream in 22 minutes. Perfect soft serve texture and consistency. I did not find the machine super loud when making the ice cream however, the beep at the end was very loud! I also wish it came with some type of recipe book. It did not come with anything other than instructions.

Loud
My cuisinart ice cream maker went out after a lot of use (abt 7 yrs) and I had to have another one as we like our frozen treats. I decided to get another one but that particular model wasn’t available anymore so I got this one. It works basically the same and easy to use. If it wasn’t for the noise I would have given this 5 stars, but this particular model is way louder and I find that very annoying. I love cuisinart and have never had any problems with anything I have purchased with that brand. If you can over look the noise, it does as intended.

Nice , easy to use, and affordable ice cream maker.
Decided to try this one after I brought the 1.5 qt ice 21 and works great just a bit bigger than first one purchased. I received it yesterday, setup is an no brainer, easy to use, I only wish the recipe book came with them and didn’t have to download it, but so far I’ve made frozen yogurt in this one , works great and I love it.

Fluffy, Creamy Non-Dairy Ice Cream in whatever flavor I want!
My first home ice cream maker and aside from having a professional soft serve machine in my kitchen (of which exists only in my dreams) this machine is hands down impressing me each and every time. The first machine I ordered was defective in that the countdown timer did not beep when the cycle was done. Amazon exchanged the machine with zero hassle and the one that arrived works perfect. As a vegan, not only are the store bought ice creams extremely expensive, flavor selection limited, and the added gum ingredients always destroy my stomach. Additionally I'm not a fan of carrageenan in my foods. This ice cream maker allows me to use my homemade nut or seed milk, any store bought milk, I can add creamer or not add creamer to keep it lower in fat calories, and the recipes are endless. I've found the consistency of the ice cream depends on what milk type I use (almond, rice, hemp, cashew, soy etc) as well as how much creamer is used. However, the machine has yet to produce bad quality ice cream even if I challenge it with a thinner milk type (i.e. rice milk with no creamer). It consistently produces creamy, fluffy ice cream no matter what the recipe. I can hear the ice cream maker when I'm in the next room. Its not obtrusively loud (slightly louder than my kitchen aid mixer) but the it only needs to be on for a short period of time (ie. 25 minutes for ice cream and longer if your premix has not cooled for a period of time) There have been times when I did not pre-cool my mix and simply added cold milk, tapioca starch with a bit of creamer or coconut cream (other methods require boiling which would automatically need a cool period of a several hours) and the result is still good, but the consistency akin to a milkshake (which I have no problem devouring.) All that being said, speaking for the non-dairy world, its super flexible and turns out creamy fluffy ice cream in a variety of milk types. I have not found it to get rock hard frozen when I transfer it to the freezer. I'm not a fan of rock hard ice cream and like that once I open the container my ice cream is fluffy and ready to eat. Super easy to operate. Literally one button. You employ two buttons if feel you want to increase the churn time. I haven't tried the sorbet setting yet because I was so happy with the ice cream output I couldn't stop making ice cream every day (yikes.) I am now ready to venture into non-dairy sorbets and can report back if anyone is interested. *another reviewer stated their lid does not stay on and they tape it with duck tape. The lid is not designed to lock into a stabilized position. The instruction manual specifically states it is designed to be loose and there are a few reasons as to why. On both of the machines I've had, the lid is only slightly loose - (we're talking about movement of a few centimeters and once the machine starts its unnoticeable.)

A great machine!
I had a Cuisinart ice cream maker (purchased in 2002) and it worked ok but I wasn't in love with it and used it rarely (I donated it when we moved three years ago). Recently, I decided to get another ice cream maker and looked at ones with compressors (Lello $700 and Whynter $300-$400) but for that kind of money how often and how many batches do I really plan on making? After reading the reviews, I decided on this $150 Cuisinart model. It fits nicely in my pantry but not sure why people complain about it being so noisy, it's what I'd expect. The directions for operating and cleaning are easy. Having a 2 qt. capacity is great if you want to throw in some add-in's (chocolate chips, fresh fruit, etc). It makes Ice Cream, Frozen Yogurt and Gelato. The on/off switch automatically sets the time depending on your choice but you can add or minus minutes if you choose. Once you are done with your first batch (30-45 minutes) the drum which remains quite cold, gets washed then back in the freezer it goes. It doesn't take but a few hours to re-freeze so if you want to make another batch you're good to go. Gelato is my favored frozen treat and it comes out so creamy. Btw - I recommend a cookbook "The Art of Making Gelato" by Morgan Morano. Both the Biscoff and Apple Pie gelato are amazing!!! One caveat; you will need a good digital scale that shows grams and ounces (Oxo is a good choice). I also recommend using a Tovolo container which is air-tight (as a precaution against ice crystals, I also place a piece of plastic directly on the surface of the gelato but that's just me). Unless you want the convenience of having a compressor I highly recommend this model for the price, ease of use and most importantly, the results!

Great ice cream maker.
We have had this ice cream maker for a week and made ice cream twice. It takes 20 minutes to churn a batch of ice cream. It comes out thick and fully ready to serve unlike our old machine of another brand which came out too soft to serve right away and had to be frozen for several hours after churning. So far, we haven't tried making gelato or sorbet in this machine. It would have been nice if the machine had come with a printed recipe booklet. Registering the ice cream maker with the manufacturer for the warranty was easy. Very happy with this ice cream maker.

Super conveniente para quem aprecia sorvete personalizado
Comprei essa máquina para ter o prazer de tomar sorvete de creme 100% natural, ao meu gosto. No momento, é meu utencílio favorito.
