Delta Faucet Alsons BAS4BX Bar Slide with Tension, Clear

My Alson shower head broke off from the slide bar with exactly this plastic connector. I was very nervous until I stumbled upon this item. This is the exact thing needed to fix the shower. As mentioned by another reviewer, getting this on was not trivial.One tool that made things easy for me is a rubber mallet. I was able to use the rubber mallet to remove the old broken sliding piece and the bottom fixture from the slide bar. Then I noticed the small plastic piece could be put into a grove just enough for the entire plastic to make a head way into the grove. With gentle hammering from the mallet, the entire thing was able to slowly slide into the grove entirely. Very happy with the item and how easy it was to put it on the slide bar.

This is just like original OEM, a little tricky to install, once on the bar, they work fine.

Delta is a consistently good brand. I purchased this by mistake…it was close to what I needed, but it WAS my mistake so I’m keeping it for future use on another faucet.

If the spring feels like it's has just to much resistance to get it on, cut a tad bit off. Great product. Exactly what I needed for a tenant. Had the old 90s model.

I agree with another review that this is hard to install (and I am pretty handy with tools around the house). Would be nice if the kit had instructions with hints, or even an installation tool. Here is what I did... I had the slide bar installed from years ago. I took a small piece of wood and cut it down so that it was the height of the bar when placed at the end of the bar, and thin enough to fit between the sides of this new slide piece. I then pressed the slide onto the wood piece, compressing the spring. I then slid the slide off the wood block and onto the bar. For the hard installation, with no instructions, I deducted one star from the rating.

I cannot believe I’ve never looked on Amazon for this part because I thought it has been discontinued. It was easy to install, I first used a flat head screwdriver and lightly tapped the old Broken hook straight up until it knocked off the chrome cap. Try to keep equal pressure when trying to tap it off. Avoid touching the chrome plated bar with the screwdriver.Now that the chrome cap is off you can slide the old broken hook straight off,And slide the new plastic. As other suggested they used a needle nose pliers which will work, I just use the side of my finger pushed in the spring and some of my finger went slightly into the bar guiding the bracket into place. I can’t believe I waited so long to fix this.

This small plastic slider worked perfectly and was easy to install. Saved me hundreds of dollars replacing entire hand held shower head.

My original slider from the 1990's broke and I had low hopes of being able to replace it - so I bought this one, never thinking that it was the right one because the stated dimensions are off in the description. I think the printed dimensions are for the box it comes in. Anyway I was very pleased with what came which was just the right size, as you might see from the photo.
