It obviously happened before packaging. It is quite difficult to photograph a scratch on glass. There is only one scratch on the top pair and I can't get the one on the bottom pair to show. I cannot tell it is there when I am using them, so I do not plan on returning them.

Nose pad fell off these glasses after three days of use.
At first, I was very happy with these glasses. They are light and seemed to be well constructed. However, after two or three days, my wife noticed a swelling on the left side of the bridge of my nose. At first, I wondered if I had been stung by an insect. I then realized that the nose pad had fallen off of the new reading glasses I had just purchased and the metal wire that holds the pad was sitting in the bridge of my nose and irritating the skin. That's unfortunate. I wouldn't purchase these again.

They are nice and light, and very comfortable, however they fall apart very quickly. Not a quality product
