Perfect for our office
Our office has had lighting issues since day one. We have 4' fluorescent fixtures throughout (double ballast, 4 T12 bulbs per), and we have constantly had issues with either bulbs failing or ballasts failing. We are preparing to open back up for the first time since COVID hit and are getting the office ready for in-person services again. Part of that was to address our lighting issues. We knew we wanted to do LED but hadn't pulled the trigger yet. With an electrician coming to do a couple other things, we decided to go ahead and order these. It was a great decision. We had our electrician do all the electrician wizard-y stuff (bypassing the ballasts) and installed these guys. Just hefting a bulb in your hand, they feel just a hair on the cheap side since it's all pretty much plastic, but they installed just fine and fired right up. They give off the perfect amount of light, and the 4000k color is perfect for an office: nice and bright without giving off the hospital vibe.ONE WORD OF CAUTION: DO NOT BUY THIS THINKING THEY ARE PLUG AND PLAY. THEY AREN'T! We bought them knowing we'd have to bypass the ballasts. If you just plug these into a fluorescent fixture without bypassing the ballast, you will probably burn out the bulbs, melt something in the fixture, and maybe cause a fire. The listing makes it very clear that these are not interchangeable with regular fluorescent bulbs, yet almost every single one of the negative reviews of this product complains about how they either didn't realize they had to bypass the ballast or complains about the bulbs flickering, burning out, or melting (all symptoms of not having bypassed the ballast). Be smarter than these people and read the actual description of product. If you buy these after researching exactly what you need, you will really like these bulbs.

Great Light for Great Price
I purchased this product for full price on Amazon. I have to admit that I thought I was buying plug and play lighting to switch out my fluorescent bulbs. THESE ARE NOT PLUG AND PLAY. However, after YouTubing some installation instructions, I am very pleased with the lights. They are easy to install once you understand what you are doing. I will do my best to explain how I installed them.First: and most importantly, turn off the breaker that supplies power to the light fixture.Next: it was easiest to remove my fixture to work with it on the ground, this is not necessary and probably could have been done while still hungNext: remove ballast (transformer looking box) by cutting wires connecting it (tip, if you are going to use this again, leave a few inches of wire coming out)Next: determine which side of your fixture is going to be the neutral (white wire) side and line side (typically black wire). It really doesn’t matter which side is which as long as ALL the tombstones (part where bulb slides in) on each side receives a neutral connection or a Line connection (see my terribly drawn diagram)Next: Cut and strip wires to be connected and use wire nuts (or your connector of choice) to secure the connectionsNext: Reinstall fixture (if you took it down), reconnect your neutral/line supply (from ceiling/switch), slide new LED bulbs in tombstonesNext: ENJOY YOUR NEW LED LIGHTThe quality of light is a vast improvement over the fluorescent bulbs we were using. I put these up in a laundry room inside my house. I will be converting my garage lighting next. I am glad that I mistakenly bought these bulbs because I found out afterwards they consume less electricity due to removing the ballast. Plug and play LED might be the easiest solution to upgrade your lights, but this is not much more work and a much better solution. Overall I am very happy with my new LED lights! If this review helped you make your purchasing decision, I would appreciate a helpful click!

Is easy to use like the lamps
When lights are on at interferes with the electric door openers from a remote. Shut lights off you can open the door from the outside of the building. Turn lights on you cannot open the door Was the remote

So far, so good.
I received the four 5000K frosted l.e.d. 2-sided ballast bypass light tubes I ordered, today (09/05/2019). The light tubes were shipped in a long slender box, with another long slender box within. Initially, I thought, Crap! They only sent me one tube. But, there were four in that box. I doubt two fluorescent bulbs would fit in that box. The l.e.d. tubes are very slim, compared to the fluorescent bulbs I was replacing. But they fit perfectly. I removed the two old ballast's from the kitchen fixture. Wired the tombstone contacts on one side to the hot leg (black) and the tombstone contacts on the other side to the neutral. Flipped the switch on and voila. Bright light fills the kitchen instantly. No flickering. The bulbs come with a 2 year warranty. I thought it was a 5 year warranty. But looking back, I see that was for some bulbs branded differently. And it was just a few dollars more. Oh well. Next time I'll have to pay closer attention. One of the four tubes was damaged. The aluminum backing on the tube was dented. No biggie, as long as it works. The dent is hidden, so you can't tell. So far, I am pleased with the purchase. As far as performance, we'll see. I'll give it a year or two and report back. It's hard to give it an overall rating right now. I'll give it three stars to start with. Just know that so far, I am happy with the results.

Incredible difference
The bulbs are very easy to instal, the amount of light is great. For your safety, remember to turn off the power before working on any electrical circuit.just follow the simple wiring directions. and remove the old ballast. if you have two light fixtures the two tombstones on one end usually with red and blue wires, all connect with wire nuts , to the Hot wire generaly Black in color, and the other two tombstones usually with yellow wires all wire to the white neutral wire.Hope this helps, if you are not familiar with electrical circuits or feel unsafe, working with electricity, call an electrician. The photos in my garage the left is the new led bulbs and in the photo with three lights the left and right are the new led, bulbs

Amazing light quality
I was initially nervous about converting my fluorescent garage lights to these LED tubes, knowing that I would have to circumvent the ballasts. I followed the included instructions and took my time with the first fixture, switched it on, and literally felt like I was seeing the outside for the first time in my life. This one fixture was now dominating the space, in a good way. Tons of light, great colour temp. for a garage (don't be one of those people who install 5000k bulbs inside your home, you monster!). Each subsequent fixture was much faster. I swapped out all 10 tubes in about 2 hours. I am not an electrician, and I was working 12 feet up on a ladder, afraid of heights. I'm sure a professional could get this done in a quarter of the time.

Overheated in fixture
These bulbs burned out in a T12 fixture and overheated. I would not recommend the purchase but buyer be ware. I have contacted the ESA and will follow up with them on how these were even certified for Canada. All bulbs were installed burned out within an hour. They cooked the T12 ballasts and I had to replace 6 of them at a cost far more then these bulbs. I recommend the Ecosmart bulbs at Home Depot. No issues with those on the T8 ballast. Philips now has T12 replacements in 2 packs at Home Depot and they are a better product at a economical price as you will not have to rush out and buy a new ballast.

You need to modify the fixture
I have just received my second order and my comments still apply. I'm replacing old T12 tubes as they burn out but am tempted to go ahead and replace all of them.I'm very happy with the tubes and the quick delivery. I knew I had to modify the fixture but the instructions that came with them are very minimal. I wasn't sure if, after removing the ballast, all the wires to one end of the fixture were to connect to one of the leads and all of those at the other end to the other lead but that's the way to do it. Other fixtures will be piece of cake. I like the appearance of the lighted tubes and the quality of the light they emit.

Almost started a house fire!!!!
I don't normally write reviews but after smoke started billowing out of the light fixture after I installed these lights, the smoke detector alarm went off in the house, and now have electrical fixture / issues in my house I certainly DO NOT recommend these lights. They started to flicker go on and off and then all of a sudden without notice this happened yesterday. They've all been removed and tossed and currently waiting for the electrician to come and figure out the extent of the damage!

Easy retrofit installation
Nominal 4000 K color temperature is easy on the eyes. Lots of light output. Instant on.Easy retrofit installation. Cut wires from original ballast. Remove ballast. Reattach certain wires. Paper instruction sheet packed with tubes. You'll need wire cutters/strippers and maybe a few wire nuts.
