Set of 2 Carbolic Germicidal Soap, 4.41oz by Island Price

I bought this soap after reading about how Joseph Lister successfully used carbolic soap and carbolic acid to combat germs and infection in hospitals. I dont work in hospitals, but i wanted to see if this could help my back acne and body odor, which are caused by bacteria on the skin. In the past i had these issues a lot no matter how often i showered or what scented soap i used. This carbolic soap truly truly honestly makes a noticable difference. My skin has improved and my body odor has gone away completely. The soap itself has a strong chemical smell but it does not transfer to the skin. I plan to use this soap forever.

Great soap that rinses super clean. It appears to be not only antiseptic, but antifungal as well, and relieves the itching caused by those nasty tinea and candida organisms that cause aggravation wherever they take up residence. If there is a con to this soap, it's that it isn't a bigger bar for the price and also that it smells a bit like Lava soap, but the odor isn't that overpowering creosote smell that can fill up your whole house and cause bronchial issues in sensitive individuals as some of the other products in this line.

This was excellent soap. I've been looking for this kind of soap for quite a while and it is quite difficult to find. Most carbolic soaps are actually just scented that way and don't actually contain that ingredient. This is the real deal. As soon as my first bar runs out, I'm buying another pack of this so I have it on hand.Do be aware that this stuff does have an incredibly strong smell. I don't find it unpleasant myself, in fact it's a bit nostalgic for me, but it will definitely be something you can smell throughout your bathroom and possibly down the hall and I can understand why some people might not like it. It does not however stick to you when you use it. It's like any other soap. You'll smell it for a few minutes right after you use it and then it'll dissipate.

Usually I am a liquid soap person, but I had read good reviews on this and gave it a try. Have already ordered it twice and will again. Yes, it has a strong smell when you open it. But it dissipates after time, and it does do the job intended. A+

I was intrigued by this soap b/c I saw a TV show that mentioned carbolic soap, and it sounded “extra clean.” On that front, I can say that it does get you clean, and it deodorizes you to the point that you smell like this soap. Which, if you’re a woman, WILL CLASH with every other scent you can imagine. It smells like a dentist’s office, coated in in sulpher. Very antiseptic-y. Like, uncontrollably so. So I had to deduct a star just for the fact that my bathroom reeks of this soap.However, I’m a soap-loving person, so after showering with this soap first, I followed with a neutral smelling soap. It did the trick. I was probably still mildly antiseptic for an hour, but it did go away.So if you're a germaphobe, which I admit I can be, this soap will make you ecstatic. There is no doubt in my mind that any anything remotely resembling germs floated down the drain. But I would not use this before a date or if I was intent on wearing my best perfume.

My local store was out of this soap, so I bought these online. This is the smell of the original Lysol floor cleaning product. Fans of the smell of carbolic acid are devoted to this fragrance but I suppose most people find it overwhelmingly medicinal. But that's a plus, far as I'm concerned. I love it!!

It has a very mediciney smell. It lathers well, washes fine. It’s hard to get over that icky smell though.
