Introducing Tectonics, Rock Structures and Mountain Belts (Introducing Earth and Environmental Sciences)

I have a professional attachment to geology and engineering geology and forever keeping upto-date with new findings .Thus I bought this book . I haven't finished reading it , as yet , but what I have read so far is a very interesting and lucid treatise on the subject . Nice book , well illustrated and full of upto-date information .

The has a strength in arrangement of sections by discipline well illustrated, if you were to advise this for your grandson geology reader go somewhere else as it has some strange concepts in physical strain soft sediments in friable shear hard rock bands juxtaposed. I could define from metamorphic research the dangers, but not a bad reader for experienced postgraduate and end there.

Great book if you want to get into the world of tectonics. Great and useful explanations. It helped me very much with my studies.

This is an excellent textbook for student at a reasonable early level, but does require the basic knowledge. Well written and illustrated.
