The Gingerbread Pirates Kindle Edition

This is a very cute story with very nice illustrations. It's hard for me to buy a children's book that I haven't touched or seen in person. But we are pirate fans with a four year old grandson. This is a charming story with a traditional Christmas story ending. It's worthy of being a Christmas reading tradition. I am pleased with the purchase and would buy again. I might even need my own copy since I gave this one as a gift.

My husband and I are both Navy, so who wouldn't love a book where Santa avows something by saying he swears by his sleigh, to which the gingerbread pirate captain (not quite understanding what Santa or a sleigh are) thinks to himself, "Swears by his ship? Can't be all bad!" Great subtle humor that the adults reading the book will enjoy. Great story about loyalty, courage, a child's love of their super-special toy, and the magic of Christmas.

A great book for my grandkids! We make gingerbread cookies in the form of Cap'n Cookie, Wavy and Dot and the kids love the story. Fine illustrations and a well done book. We've worn out the softcover copy we had and replaced it with a hardbound copy to enjoy.

I absolutely love this book. Gorgeous pictures, adorable story with a tender ending. Highly recommend this for fun or to teach concepts such as perspective, word choice, sequence of events, cause and effect and so much more!

We found this book at the library and my kids and I loved it so much that I decided to purchase one! What a funny book! I never get tired of reading this book! We read it year round at our house! We also love the art/illustrations that are in the book as well!

Read this book to my Kinder and 1st grade classes and the students loved it! the pictures were very nice and the story is cute and simple. The students all said they wanted to make gingerbread pirates after we finished it. would recommend cute fun Christmas story.

We have checked this book out every Christmas for years so we finally bought it. Our older son loves to make Captain Cookie on Christmas Eve when we make our gingerbread cookies for Santa. This lovely story is about a boy who makes gingerbread pirates with his mom. The cookies come to life and are trying to figure out what Christmas is all about when they meet Santa. It is a nice quick Christmas story and gives you great ideas on how to decorate your cookies!! Happy reading!!

Both my 2 and my 5 year old sons love this book. We originally checked it out at the library, but it's become such a favorite book that we bought a copy. Both my boys love looking at the pictures as well as hearing the story. It's requested every night as the bedtime story.At the request of both my boys, we made gingerbread pirate cookies this year. And they each made their own "Captain Cookie" as well as Dots and Wavy.This book is fun and adventurous - just up my boys' alley.

May have been being a little special, I hadn't realised that this is very much a Christmas book....

The kids love this book, it's funny and cute and I'd definitely recommend it for the 2-6 age range for boys.
