Unwearable and painful. Bad design
I really wanted to like this backpack, it was everything I was looking for. The idea behind it is great however the actual design is not. I am very disappointed with this pack because it is unwearable when it has any real amount of weight in it. Like a camera, which is what it is made for. This pack is the most uncomfortable and at times painful pack I have ever worn. I would say I have owned at least 3 regular backpacking packs over the years that I normally use for carrying much heavier gear such as rock climbing equipment in and I have never had the pain and discomfort that I have from this pack. The main problem for me may be simply that it is not designed to be sinched down small enough for a woman's frame (I am 5'5 130lbs). The back is too long causing it to buckle in the middle and the waist strap doesn't go tight enough to put the weight completely on my hips. The straps by the neck are attached too close together and to the wrong part of the pack which causes extreme discomfort of digging into the sides of the neck and muscles in that area. I believe that would be uncomfortable for a man as well. I went and got a generic REI midsize pack for $100 and carry the smaller camera pod/pack in it so that it's not a total loss. However it doesn't have the side opening and separate compartments that I was looking for when I purchased this pack. The smaller pack is designed well on the inside. However, I believe any pack, whether it is small or large, if it carries significant weight such as camera gear, it should have a waist strap so that it keeps the weight on your hips rather than your spine. The small pack does not have a waist strap. Carrying even the small pack by itself more than a few miles causes my back to hurt and pinch. I would not recommend this pack to anyone.

over all a great backpack for hiking with camera
The strap for fasten the ball head fail after one use. over all a great backpack for hiking with camera, but it is too big for a short trip. The camera bag padding is great. feels very comfortable on my back. The material seems to thin.

The camera insert to hang off the front of your body could be much smaller. Too bulky right now.
Bag was bulkier and heavier than I expected. The camera insert is really large and I don't ever see anyone wearing in front as advertised. In front you only need your main camera and maybe one lens, not your entire kit.

camera backpack excellence!
Great product that offers camera protection and the ability to pack some other gear. Camera bag is removable and can become its own pack if desired. Camera pack sits in the bottom where you want the heaviest items. Buy with confidence!
