This whistle is tiny! I am sure it posted the size on the item description, but nothing drives home the size of the whistle than actually holding in the palm of your hand and thinking my lips are never going to fit on this thing. It does whistle, but one has to play with the end that screws to get the force that one is looking to have. Having said that, we need a piercing whistle that will call a dog from the next field. This whistle may call your dog from the garage and I live in the city. The garage is only a few feet away and I can yell louder than the whistle. As for training, you can't train your neighbor's dog so stop trying. Our puppy is 6 months old and I think we could train him on this whistle for house use, but when I can actually use my own voice, I don't know why I would need a whistle. We will be going to Cabela's or Ugly Dog Hunting to actually find what we are looking for, but if you are looking to whistle train your dog in relatively close proximity, this whistle could fit the bill.

It is small and inexpensive, and it gets the job done! It is NOT a silent whistle, you can hear it but it is not a loud volume no matter how hard you blow into it. Any behavior my excited Pit Bull engages in that I want him to stop immediately, such as zooming around the house at 30 mph after his dinner, or barking and pawing the door to go out, all I need to do is give a nice long blast on his whistle to distract him and get him to come to me to see what's going on! Some reviewers have noted that they had difficulty with keeping the parts together. It is likely due to the fact that there are TWO screw points on the whistle - the key ring piece screws into the round knurled turn piece, and the round knurled turn piece screws into the end of the whistle, all for the sake of adjusting the pitch. My solution was to find the pitch I wanted and then set the screw in place with a brush or two of Loc-Tite to keep it from turning anymore. Using this is MUCH better than yelling at your dog, and you can attach ANY meaning you want to for it, as a summons, a call to dinner, a stop barking call, whatever you need.

I gave this product two stars because I try not to hate anything despite the increased level of outrage I feel toward people who do not make any attempt to quieten their barking dog in an otherwise quite and peaceful neighborhood.. Bottom line, although I cannot speak for anyone else's uses for this whistle it absolutely did NOT work to deter an obnoxious neighboring dog from barking. If anything, this whistle made him start barking louder upon hearing it. I was totally disappointed as I had high hopes that it would put an end to this annoying canine who seems to bark at everything from our walking out on our sun porch to our speaking to one another in our own yard, I believe this moronic dog would bark at a leaf blowing across its own front yard and it's owner is oblivious although how they can simply ignore its incessant barking is beyond us. I guess I should be thankful they have it confined within an "invisible" pet fence so at least it barks within the confines of it's own yard but still it is annoying...the whistle did not work as it claims it would so I returned it for a refund.

Shippment as ok, it is the whistle its self. Quality is good but when I seen the part in the description that reads: "It is NOT silent", I thought it meant not silent to the dog, not me. I wanted a whistle that is silent to me, not the dogs that bark their heads off day and night across the hall from me.I don't have the money to ship it back.

I was looking for a silent whistle (this one is not) but it still did the job. My dog stopped barking at our neighbors dog. I first did not receive the ebook, I could not get a hold of them til after I made a review and they contacted me, since then they gave me the ebook and told me how to contacted them, which is much to complicated.

I can't imagine a better tooling and quality, but the neighbor dog remains disinterested in anything I do to quell his barking. Excellent training material provided by the company, too. If it's a dog whistle and training tips you are after, this is your choice. Just don't rely on it to stop the neighbor dog--at least not one who barks at everything from squirrels to the humidity.

It seems to do the job I wanted, but the retainer keeps working itself loose causing it to disconnect from the chain. If I don't see it fall, it may become lost. Tightening does not seem o work as the change in tightness affects to whistle sound. There should be a STOP included in the design.

I know that this isn't advertised as a silent dog whistle but it is so loud that it seems to hurt the humans ears more than the dog's. I thought it would have a much higher pitch that would get the immediate attention of dogs. Even after changing the pitch with the end piece, I wasn't able to get it high enough for the dog to pay attention to and that didn't cause me pain. I'm not impressed to use as a training tool.
