Tougher than an armadillo, faster than a Large Hadron Collider, longer than... me.
This is a great freakin' cable. It's in the all-time Top Two of lightning cables that I have owned, from a pool of... way way too many (I travel a lot, I'm forgetful, I lend/give them to people... I dunno, it's a character flaw.). I always buy Apple-certified cables, though I'm done buying Official Apple Brand cords because of the price and the failure rate (especially where the cord meets the plug, as many others have noted). The extra length on this one is remarkably useful, especially at home... or anywhere you're going to be for a while. It's sturdy as all get-out. My computer recognizes the connection immediately and the cable stays firmly in place, without exception -- no jiggling required. The physical "snap" as it plugs into into my phone and USB jack is solid and secure (and satisfying). I think you'll be amazed at how puny your standard 3-foot cords seem in comparison. One caveat for buyers, and one suggestion for the maker:~~ This is not the *optimal* cable for coiling (or tucking into a Grid-It or whatever) for daily-in-your-backpack use -- for the length alone, but also the stiffness of the (very effectively sturdy) casing. It's a tradeoff, of course -- I still think this is the best "home"/"normal" cable available. [For the curious, the other cable in my Top Two is the Nomad Cable - 3" Apple Mfi Certified Lightning Cable for your Key Ring . In my mind, these two together give me the ideal iPhone charging/syncing system. The Kero is crazy portable but only good (in my opinion) for computer-to-phone charging, and it doesn't have the durability or I-can-charge-absolutely-anywhere length that I've found so great about this Tech Armor product. You can see my review for the Kero over yonder.]~~ I would LOVE it if this cable were available in at least one bright color (police-tape yellow, hi-viz green, cherry red, neon anything) in addition to the sober grey and white. I want to be able to spot it immediately in a suitcase or when I'm hurriedly departing a hotel room (and, to be fully confessional, when it's hiding somewhere in my frequently tossed-around covers when I've been on my laptop in bed, which is embarrassingly often). I'd love to be able to spot it quickly among the forest of cords and cables that it gets plugged in amongst.* At home, where I use it the most, I don't NEED to look professional -- and frankly I get sick of all the black/white/grey of corporate-appropriate gear. [Also, a contrasting color on the "up" side of the USB jack would make me feel less stupid when I flip it around and around, but I won't get too greedy.]In summary: FANTASTIC CABLE. I'll replace this in a heartbeat if I somehow lose it. I have full confidence that I won't have to replace it because it breaks down.[Quick side note: I found out about this cable (and a great sale price) via deals.kinja.com. I just wanted to give them a shout-out -- and thought that other Amazon customers would find the site useful as well -- I have absolutely no direct involvement with the site. They update deals daily, on multiple categories, though I've found their tech-related tips, like this one, the most useful.]*Grammar iz hard

the only cable review with references to snakes and geese-
This is one tough cable. because of various pulls, bends and kinks I've gone through a number of cables that seem to inevitably break somewhere near the juncture of the plugs. After six months of plugging, unplugging, twisting, etc. 3-6 times a day, this one remains perfect. Due to the location of outlets, furniture and the place I like to flop to use my ipad, the cable must thread through and around a variety of objects and then because I move around to and fro, it has to adjust under/over pillows, arms, an imperious cat etc. What I wanted and received with this item was a very flexible cable that could also keep whatever form I gave it so it would remain in place and not fall to the floor necessitating undo effort and distraction to retrieve should it slip. Think of the cliched image of a cobra sticking out of a basket, mesmerized by a flute, what I needed was something that I could bend in curves and right angles and the plug end could just sort of sit there, poised mid air, so I could just grab it without having to search around for it- this baby does it. A more mechanical example would be a gooseneck lamp but I'm not sure if people know that mid-century design terminology anymore. Lifetime warranty was the final kicker. Who cares how cheap something is if you have to go to the trouble of replacing it over and over. Between my house, office and studio, I have literally hundreds of cables, this is the only one I can say actually delivers a sort of reassurance after I handle it. The weave is very tight, the dimension about twice the diameter of original cables, it's dark grey that disappears in the shadows and the exterior fabric also very subtly feels organic unlike the snaking plastic spaghetti strewn about elsewhere. Plug fits are clean and tight and I'll leave others to deal with the more quantitative technicals, all I care about is that it does what I want with no additional hassles. Okay- this is probably the most I've said or ever want to say about a measly wire. I have to leave now and get back to something important, like the latest Ted talk on the meaning of life.

Lasted 6 months, love the warranty
UPDATE - March 6, 2016:Despite the other reviews stating that the return process for the lifetime warranty is a hassle and ends up costing you in shipping, I decided to go through the motions and try it out myself. Well, I am SO glad I did because it was 100% legit and worth my while. I filled out the form on the product's website, and couldn't get it to go through - so I just sent an email wth the required information and a week later, I had a brand new cable in hand. No questions asked, didn't pay a dime, didn't even have to return the old one. I have updated my review to 5 stars because I do love the product and hope that this replacement lasts longer than the original did.*******************Original review (please see update above):This charger lasted me a little over 6 months, which I guess is pretty good when you compare it to other lightning cables out there. However, I paid a whole lot for this one to not even make it a year. I take good care of it and leave it plugged in next to my nightstand. I never unplug it from the wall or manipulate it in any way while in use. I just charge my phone with it at night. A few days ago it started acting up, and now it's hit or miss on whether or not it's going to charge my phone. The exterior is in perfect condition - no fraying at all. But there is DEFINITELY a loose connection/some broken wires inside. The lifetime warranty is what sold me, but unfortunately it doesn't cover return shipping and just isn't worth my while. Even though it still works 50% of the time, that's just not acceptable when I rely so much on my device. I'll be buying a new cable soon, but it definitely won't be this brand.

Buen Cable
