Been using this exact paper since the 1990's. It's the best!
Been using this exact paper since the 1990's. It's the best! for certain projects (hand made comic covers)I remember being in 8th grade using it, and I've made 47 comics --my own characters-- and I always used this as my go to for covers. slightly glossy, yet won't smudge or bleed through with pro inking pens.(Even Le Pen back then!!) and never faded. lol. I hope they keep making this style of paper, because I have yet to see any other type--and I've looked-- that comes close.Plate gloss Bristol board (Strathmore) comes slightly close, but it's too thick for a cover.. Keep making it Pentalic! (Oh, in 8th grade my 'funny' friend thought it could be cute to add an 'I' in 'paper for pens' -- added the 'I' after n in pens... ha. ha. I did get him back, don't worry. :D

Quality paper for ink and pencil artwork
LOVE this paper for ink drawings. It has been the nicest I’ve found. In fact my original Pentallic pad was bought for college art classes over 20 years ago and I came across it during the pandemic and started using what was a left of the pad and this has been one of the smoothest (but not shiny) brightest, sturdiest (hardly any bleed through from my ink pens). It really allows the ink to glide easily across the paper and seems to go further. I’ve also done pencil drawings on this paper and it’s been wonderful! The pencil blends very easily both with my finger and with tortillons because there is no real tooth to the paper (which for some pencil and ink drawings is a great thing). It’s archival quality which is a plus. The paper is not super thick but it does feel substantial. This paper is one of my long time favorites.

Very nice for crisp pen and ink drawings
I really like Pentalic Paper for Pens. Its smooth, somewhat slick surface makes it very nice for drawing with pen and ink. Your lines come out crisp, rather than fuzzy (as they tend to be on plain paper). This is a fairly thick paper, heavy enough to feel sturdy in your hand and hold up well to normal handling, yet thin enough to do tracings with a light box. (I usually start with pencil sketches on cheap paper.)I like to buy the 11- by 14-inch pads and then cut the sheets cross-wise into the standard 8-1/2 by 11 and whatever-is-left using an Xacto knife. This works really well for me. I then have perfectly sized sheets for making coloring pages that can be printed out on standard printer paper and smaller sheets to use for smaller illustrations -- and at a great price!

Great paper
The surface is smooth enough for fine ink lines, and tough enough for art gum erasers to clean off pencil marks.

Great for inking with micron pens
I am using this paper with micron pens. It takes the ink very well. With this combination of materials I have had no smuding or smearing when erasing my pencil lines. The line quality is excellent. The pens flow very well across this paper. This paper is easy to see through when transferring dra wings to be inked. This paper allows for great levels of detailed work.

this is by far the best paper I have to come across
As a cartoonist that works with a lot of ink, this is by far the best paper I have to come across. I usually use a pentel brush pen and sharpie on it, and it comes off the paper crip, black, and smooth. But I also recommend this paper for any other pen. Great for illustrators and cartoonists.

Slight damage, but great paper
About 4 sheets were unusable from a corner drop, but since the price was slightly discounted, this seems fair and about right. No problems with the other sheets. This is great paper for felt tip pens.

A more glossy paper I tried was fine.
Update: As a copperplate beginner, this paper offers a nice big size for practicing letter forms and the paper is a nice surface. I go back and forth on the paper quality -- if you get your ink consistency right, it works pretty well. But the ink often seems to bleed too.
