Cools my apartment in a few minutes. - Setting it up is the hardest part but fortunately there's very little to set up. Just connect the unit to your window and you're good to go. The manual isn't that helpful, but the pictures make it fairly intuitive if you've ever had or seen a portable A/C. You just need to make sure the hose that vents the hot air doesn't come loose from either the window fitting or the unit itself. You don't really need to buy additional insulation to stick to your window, but if you decide to use the spongy insulator that they provide, I recommend that you stick it to the window slider and NOT your actual window frame or you'll be left with a lot of residue if you ever try to take it off. Once you set it up, it does its job really well. All of the functions are easy to understand and you can usually just leave it on Automatic. Cools the joint living room/kitchen of my apartment (about 500 sq. ft) within a few minutes. There's a medium amount of noise but you get used to it after a while. Additionally, there's also a handy timer function that can turn itself off after X hours, which is always useful at night. Haven't needed any of the other features (e.g. child lock) but I would recommend this to anyone who needs a portable A/C. Review: Mostly positive - We needed a temporary fix to a heat wave while our AC was being replaced. I decided to try this model because of the extra features that would make it useful in a future cabin, RV or tiny home we are considering within the next couple years. Since it didn’t add much to the price, and most reviews were positive - I tried it out. It arrived quickly & easy to inbox (cut the plastic bindings & loft the sides up.) The challenge was the venting tube is hard plastic with very little maneuver ability & the length was not long enough by a long shot. Also the window piece that the vent hose fits into in order to block the airflow around the hose ONLY works for standard size windows, and preferably windows that close up & down, not cranking windows of any kind. Since we could not get the hose into the hole on this piece without some heavy duty glue or duct tape, and it wasn’t long enough anyway - we made our own accommodations. We decided to use plywood, cut the hole to fit the unit, and stick it in the unused side of the double French doors leading out to our MBr deck. This also made insulating around it and the water drainage much easier to handle. So for us it was easier, quicker & more convenient this way. The unit turned on quickly, and is fairly simple to figure out. Once we figured out the levers for the blower, we were able to adjust the blowing air in the directions best suited to our needs. It quickly cooled our Br down, which is a rather large area. The dogs appreciated the relief almost as much as my husband, whom was really cranky from not having a good nights sleep due to the heat and humidity before the unit arrived. I can’t say it’ll cool a large area very well because we have a relatively new house (less than 5 years old) with high efficiency & a large master suite (bedroom, sitting area, bath & walk-in closet) & we tend to keep the door between the bath and bedroom closed so the unit focuses solely on the room...and runs constantly. If the door is left open, the entire area is “comfortable” at 70-73 degrees, but not as cool as when the area is half as large. The unit works well enough at 68 degrees to be comfortable needing a light blanket to fight the chill, which is nice for naps. The only other challenges are that the remote doesn’t have everything on it the panel does, and so you can’t do all functions from the remote. The panel is so easy we don’t use the remote & don’t miss it. And finally...the unit has tripped the circuit breakers a few times when it “kicks on”, which is the only thing in this new house that has ever done it. Not quite sure why because the circuit has more than enough load to it. Maybe the initial draw is higher than anticipated. Not a biggie since the breakers are right outside the door and easy to reset, but worth the mention - especially on a brand new house with separate breakers on all 3 levels & overkill on size of breakers. We haven’t used the heat or other functions yet, but expect it to work adequately for our needs. I’d suggest people give this is a shot if looking for something along these lines. I bought it even though my husband heard from people he worked with it was junk. It was already on the way and I needed ac for many reasons. I was not disappointed. I’m not thrilled beyond words, but it was worth the money spent and will give us enough value for the things that don’t work as expected.

Remote and touch screen stop functioning just outside of the product support window...
So I purchased this unit back in May, and it seemed like a great little AC unit, cooled my office space effectively and was relatively quiet when compared to a window shaker. It operated for right about 3 months without issue, then the remote stopped working entirely...I thought to myself "No big deal lazy! Just use the touch controls" which was fine...until those stopped working properly as well. Using the touch screen now is like playing slots...you never know what each press will do. 1 thing is for sure, none of your presses will do what you intend. Unfortunately I'm outside the 3month support window so I guess I'm stuck with a 500 dollar piece of garbage. DO NOT BUY!

Not great...
I definitely like the look of the unit. It's quite attractive and far better than a big window unit blocking my view. Unfortunately I've had issues from the beginning. It was easy to install so that's a good thing. But the touch screen on top of the unit hasn't worked from the beginning. Certain buttons when pushed operate a different part of the unit than the button is supposed to operate (i.e. pushing the "mode" button turns on and off the "child lock" and pushing the "child lock" button does nothing at all). So I have no way to change the mode. The temperature up and down buttons don't do anything at all. The cooling capacity is ok but not great. It's in a 500sq ft room and honestly feels more like a fan than an air conditioner. The manual that came with the unit describes a water tank that must be occasionally emptied but there is no water tank on this unit (despite an indicator button on the top of the unit that is supposed to alert you when the tank is full). It also came with a drainage hose which I have hooked up since there was no water tank and I have it running into a 5 gallon bucket which literally fills up in less than 8 hours. So I have to continually empty the bucket. So bottom line is, the unit looks great but certainly doesn't work great!
