Amazing torch! (Update 2 years later)
Wish I would have bought this sooner! I don't care if you are starting fires, sweating copper... You name it, this thing has fantastic control! Best torch I have owned and I have been using it for a year. Used the benzomatic pencil style previously but will buy nothing but this brand again.Have only used propane but I bet this thing would be great with mapp gas.Absolutely love this torch. Best torch I have owned hands down.[UPDATE AFTER 2 YEARS]Review stands, fantastic torch. I heat with wood and I grill 2 on average 2 times a week (use a charcoal chimney and this torch to start it). I use this torch daily, sometines multiple times a day.Well, recently the piezoelectric element went out (spark generator). I removed the 2 screws and was pleased to find it was the standard type you'll find in electric cigarette lighters. I had a scripto electric lighter from the dollar store so I dismantled it, removed igniter, and soldered back in torch with heat shrink tubing to prevent arcing. Works great again! I can't really detract from the torch for that, I don't know the duty cycle of piezo igniters but they eventually die and it lasted two years of solid use.Repairing the igniter (push button) got me thinking I should come update my review. I noticed the review stating that it's a flawed design and wanted to interject. It would be more accurate to say that the design didn't fit that particular persons preference.I am well familiar with the benzomatic model the person mentioned (my grandfather had one by his stove that he used for starting). It's a good torch. The things I would like to point out are...A. Yes, there probably could be something done to make this torch safer, I have burnt myself picking it up and touching the nozzle base. That said, I like the compactness of the unit. On a Coleman tank the whole thing ends up right at 12" in height. The benzomatic unit mentioned would be more like 16-18". If you are in a tight crawlspace this thing is a lot better to work with / move around with. I've gotten used to the design and haven't burnt myself again.B. The compact design is rigid and less prone to damage from getting knocked over / stepped on / etc. The benzomatic design is long and on a standard propane bottle ends up around 2 ft. Making it more prone to get knocked / tipped over and damaging threads or nozzle.C. Lastly and most importantly the flame.... The benzomatic unit produces a 3 lobed flame that I can't think of as anything but inferior to this. This torch produces a sharp tipped inner flame with a large area outer lower temp flame. If you were trying not sweat some larger copper with more mass / surface area to heat up this thing will do it twice as fast or better. The sharp inner flame dorks well throughout the range of the valve and turned way down can give surprisingly good control for fine work. I used it to heat some rusted exhaust manifold nuts on my Dodge in a tight spot and was able to do so without burning nearby wiring and hoses. Yet to find another torch with such a wide range while offering such good control. In short, aside from a perforated guard around the nozzle I can't think of anything that this thing could use. I'm going to go see if they make a smaller diameter nozzle version for fine work and if they do I will probably buy it.Don't change the basic design though, this thing is a winner and all the things that the person who prefers the benzomatic stated to be "design flaws" have strong points as advantages. As an aside, the benzomatic pencil flame torches I was using before seemed to have an issue where they gradually became plugged over time. I can only suspect that brass oxidation builds and plugs the small orifice that gas flows through. I have tried to clean them with welding torch cleaners, small diameter guitar strings and other things to no avail. If anyone knows how to make them flow again I would love to hear it as I have 2 in my shed that are no longer usable. For overall utility / versatility, a handyman / homeowner would be hard pressed to do better than this torch especially for the price. It is getting harder and harder to find economical / well built tools and products in general so when I find them I make it a point to let the manufacturer know they have a great product and let people know about it. This is certainly one of them.

Nice design, catches fire
The pros:Really nicely configured torch head. It's compact, great ergonomics, works well and has a perfect flame shape, easy to use, etc. I like it well enough that I will keep it and enjoy it despite the potentially dangerous defect which I mention next. The cons:Buyer/user beware. If the adjustable gas valve is opened completely, gas flows past the valve knob and then ingnites in a big ball of flame. That's right, the entire torch head and top of tank will be engulfed in flame. Anything short of full open and the valve seems to not leak.Ordered my first one and found the leak. Seller replaced it with a second one and it's exactly the same. Not a one-off defect.I'm now an informed user and know how to avoid the problem but this product should probably be pulled from the market. Betting this review will get the attention of someone's legal team.

Works great
Provides a VERY strong flame, well made, sturdy, and easily adjustable. While it may be a little more expensive than other units, you won't be disappointed.

So far way better than Benzo
My last Benzomatic stopped working after one week. I use my torch a lot an have been happy with this one. My only possible gripe is that the flame adjustment is not as sensitive on this as it is on the Benzo.

Bada$$
This flame is so strong it actually blows itself out if turned on too high. It's very powerful, however very unstable. If they offered one like this of better quality, I'd gonfor that one. I haven't found any tho, so it more than does it's job

Works great
Starts easy and wonderful for lighting my wood stove.

Works well.
Works well with a few flaws. The igniter works most of the time and it can be a pain in the butt if what your working on requires a medium to low flame. The flame will cut off if you lower the gas too much.

Doesnt ignite anymore
This is easy to use. Problem is it doesn't always light. Sometimes the "clicker" doesn't click so I give it a whack and it will click. Doesn't always light so I need an external flame to light it.

Vraiment bon!
Probablement la meilleure torche que j'ai acheter à vie. Allume a tout coup, peut importe la température. Vraiment un bon produit
