I bought this for my wife as she has allergies that affect her sleep and the doctor suggested a air filter to help. Its is HEPA rated, and has a light meant to kill virus', etc. Ill admit my favorite part is when the filter needs to be cleaned, you simply remove the back panel (No screws, just a small clip) and vacuum the filter media, reset the monitor and done! With traditional filters the replacement filters can easily cost more than the unit itself in 1 year not to mention long term costs. This works just as well and you don't have to shell out $15-30 dollars every month or two to keep it working.

So about eight months ago my students decided I should go on Tinder. Yes, that sounds sort of weird so let me clarify. I work with college students but I also wrote a blog for a long time about life, love and business school and my online dating adventures following about a decade out of the dating world. There was lots to learn... For the record, my first screen name on Match was "DoSomeGoodBlonde" because I am a do gooder and I'm blonde. My profile got lots of unnecessary traction because I am often entirely accidentally, inappropriate. Anyway, I let my student sign me up and select my pics on this new swipey-left-right love app to see what would happen.The first few weeks on Tinder there was a whole lotta "come watch a movie at my house" invites from creepy hook up dudes in my self selected three mile radius. I declined and skeptically assumed that Tinder would result in nothing more than a round of awkward texts with men I wouldn't have even flirted with in a bar.....But then one afternoon while driving over the 405 this handsome, intelligent, seemingly functional guy showed up as a match.. He and I messaged and it was clearly digital chemistry... We had people in common... like cool people, people we respected and trusted... and even more fascinating..... he actually asked me out for dinner!!! I'd had 43 first dates at that point from over a year of primary research on love and was guardedly optimistic. Tinder had failed to keep the radius in check though since this guy actually lived about 40 miles away but something told me this one could be very very different.. So I accepted.Now how you ask does this help you decide whether or not to buy this air purifier? Like OMG unless there is a compelling emotional reason to buy a product, you won't buy it!Well Tinder guy and I had an amazing first date. We had an amazing second date and a third... By the time he came to my house on the fourth date, I discovered that he in fact was incredibly allergic to cats. He acted all macho, but I could see it in his eyes and hear it in his breathing..... this relationship could be doomed by the two felines who live in my home.Such is the problem for every single crazy cat lady looking for love on an app.Well, I ordered this purifier faster than you can say, Amazon Prime and it arrived in time for our fifth date. I have one in my bedroom and one in my living room and my house is entirely tolerable and only marginally allergic for Tinder guy. There was of course a gradual transition consuming allergy medicine and pickles... (if you have allergies you might know but natural vasil dilators like pickles may actually help your reactions). Overall, he's pretty comfortable with my house and the animals that live there.The purifier works beautifully and is incredibly effective. It is not noisy, unless you have it running full power, which I often do before Tinder guy, (now turned boyfriend) comes over to watch movies. Cleaning it is simple. The blue light on the top of the unit can be a little bright in a bedroom at night, so make sure it's not in your line of site or cover it with a scarf. My electricity bills haven't gone up and even my allergies are better.Most importantly, this air purifier took us well beyond date five. So..... if you get the Therapure TPP240 Permanent HEPA type Air Purifier - you might just find love. I'd say, GO FOR IT!!

My sister & her husband almost lost their home in the Northern California fires so it was desperately needed to help them keep the air in their home free of toxins & smoke as their outside air was HAZARDOUS FOR WEEKS. ARRIVED VERY FAST & was easy to unpack & use in the bedroom immediately.We had a smaller one & loved how well it cleaned the air in our Master bedroom.The large room capacity that we sent was just a tad loud on high speed but can be set on a lower quiter speed at night. It is now in the second bedroom. Easy to move with the handle on the tower. Thanks to family helping out they have 3 air cleaners now. The smoke from the RIVER fire is past but continues to help with pet dander from their dog & allergies. Sent extra hepa filters so easy to replace when needed. Love that AMAZON prime got it there so quick. Even with the fires still raging in the area. I know that they can order replacement HEPA quality filters in the future from AMAZON no problem. It was such a reasonable price & allowed us to help them out overnight.

I only received this item today, so take this review with a grain of salt. I've actually purchased 3 air purifiers in the last week, this Therapure being the most expensive and recent. My purifier sits on a table, about 5 feet from me, so quietness of operation is paramount! Well, just as I expected, the Therapure brand understands QUIET OPERATION! (Just like my last Therapure!). The Germ Guardian and Holmes units I purchased both seemed like nice, effective units, and were substantially less expensive, but I'm glad I sprang for another Therapure, because this thing is SUPER QUIET (can barely tell it's turned on, at lowest setting) - the way I like it!And FYI, my old Therapure worked perfectly for 5+ years. It's untimely demise was due to hard fall from its table that resulted in a broken motor mount, which I was able to "repair", but a couple of the fins on one the fan cylinders broke-off, and the unbalanced fan creates more noise than I want. (I'll give it to my teen son, who has no concept of quiet).How long will this unit last and how effective it will be throughout its life - only time will tell. But for now, it's quiet, smells good, seems functional, and attractive, and I'm thrilled!Only 4 stars because I save 5 stars for the truly amazing. This purifier seems excellent, but I'm not sure it qualifies as amazing, just yet. If it stays quiet and works for many years like my last one did, I may need to come back and up this star count!And thanks for all those who answered my question about unit quietness - your answers were spot-on and so appreciated!Update: I've had this unit for several months now, and still loving it - still whisper quiet, and still an effective air filter, for my use!
