Excellent Intense Combat
I still love Metal Arms even after playing all of the Ratchet & Clank and Jak & Daxter series, among others. Sure, those games are brilliant and beautiful with rich graphics, storylines and overall game play. But even in the landscape of those pristine games, Metal Arms has some pretty amazing action, if that's what you are into. Yea, it's a little rough around the edges, the graphics could be better and it would be nice to have more to explore in each mission, but still the places the game takes you to are pretty darn cool and the combat nicely intense. There are a ton of challenging, even difficult, missions. Let's just say that Glitch is a very determined robot.I love hacking into other enemy robots, especially Titans, and doing some serious damage. I love throwing a rare and elusive recruiter grenade when I need some enemies converted to friends. I love using a cleaner. I LOVE that you can snipe. Love that! Some of the levels are so intense that my hands tremble when it's over. Like the last mission. This is one of the most aggressive boss battles ever!!!I just don't get some of the complaints. Who cares about frame rate? Why are the controls such a big deal? I thought the controls were fine and at least you never have to drill down for your weapons, they are all there readily available.I can't believe that there is no sequel yet. This game could definitely become a successful series with some tweaking. In the meantime, I love Metal Arms and it is up there as one of my favorite games.

Disappointing
I was predisposed to like this game. After all, "robots blowing up other robots" is a tried and true videogame premise. Some of the best videogames ever spring from the same well (Paradroid for the C64, for instance.)In the case of Metal Arms: Glitch in the System, however, promise falls short of reality. The first and foremost strike against this game is the control system. Some PS2 games use a "point and go" control system. The player pushes the left analog stick to move in that direction, and uses the right analog stick to rotate the camera. If strafing (stepping to the side while facing the same direction) is desired, generally the left stick plus a flipper do the job.Metal Arms ditches this for a more "first person shooter" style, where the left stick moves forward and backward, and strafes, while the right stick is used to rotate in place. This makes something as seemingly simple as turning and running at the same time into an exercise in frustration akin to patting your head and rubbing your stomach simultaneously. Sure it's possible but it feels weird doing it.Had the developers used a point-and-go system, the game would have been much more approachable. The second strike against this game is the graphics. This game was released in November 2003, around the same time as Jak II and Ratchet & Clank 2, and falls far short of those titles. The motion in the game feels jerky, and the refresh rate seems to be below what's considered acceptable for other PS2 titles. (Perhaps the fact that this game is cross-platform means less time was spent optimizing the engine for any particular system?)Overall, you'd be better off spending your gaming time playing the Ratchet & Clank series. Ratchet may not be a robot, but he does know how to blow up robots, and isn't that what's really important here?

Filthy Language
The game seemed ok but the fowl language in the game made it unacceptable for a childrens game. Got rid of it before my kids ever had a chance to play. If the game makers insist on such language they need to offer a way to disable that part in the form of parental controls.

One of the greatest XBOX/ PS2 games no one played sadly
Received a "NEW" copy. Its mint, I Mean Mint! The Manuals crisp, A little mildewey smelling but thats just character. Disc is fawless. I hate it when you pay full price for a resurfaced disc. Do like I did and pay the extra ten bucks, and like always choose a very reputable seller. Never compromise on nostalgia.
