Great sound

Worth the purchase...
Was pretty easy to install.I put it in an old Kenwood home stereo speaker.I don't think it was the best choice on my end.In an actual sub box or bandpass it would be able to perform better.Definitely worth the investment and time switching out my old speaker 🔊.Definitely would buy another one but in the blue series for personal preference on color. But I recommend enough power to push the speaker and a good box to install it...Happy jamming...

Cheap but works
Cheap money. It's a subwoofer. It works. It's not bad for the money. Bought it to test and torture test. It survived.

Don't buy these speakers
These speakers are complete crap. I figured I would give them a shot mainly because I am a tightwad and didn't want to spend a lot of money on some sub-woofers. I should have just bit the bullet and got a good set because these were a complete waste of what little money the cost and my time. Got the stupid things hooked up and they sounded great for about 5 minutes. After that it quit working completely. At first I figured I had a problem with my amp or maybe pulled a wire loose, but that was not the case. Was very disappointed with these speakers. Adding insult to injury, Pyle will warranty them for a service fee of $20.00. I ONLY PAID $25.00 FOR THEM. Do yourself a favor and just buy some good subs from the get go and save yourself the time. After these turds quit working, I just hooked up an old home theater sub I had and it will work until I can order me a GOOD sub.

Better than expected, satisfied with purchase
I purchased these to replace the old and blown woofers in my home stereo cabinets. I was concerned because these are 4 ohm and the original speakers were 8 ohm. The amp I have is rated 8-16 ohms. I have to keep from turning it up to high volumes or the amp gets really hot and the fuses in the cabinets blow out. I found that out the first day I started using them. I don't think this is the fault of the speakers, it is likely because of the ohm mismatch. I set a fan near the grill that vents the amp's heat sink and that helps keep it cooler. The speakers sound great though when listening to rock music or with movie/tv sound! Now I need to replace the mid and tweeters so they match the sound quality of the subs. I wouldn't hesitate to install them in an enclosure for a budget car audio system. They may not sound quite as good as the kicker subs I have in my car, but for the price they are well worth it.

Better than I expected!!!....
Bought this to replace the failing 10" sub in a ported tube that I bought at a swap meet used at least 10 years ago...The tube I believe came from JC Whitney and the speaker in it was a "Thump" brand, very cheap and I'm surprised it held up as long as it did really...I have the tube in a 1990 Honda Civic hatchback (my work/winter car), and I spend quite a bit of time in it so wanted more than just the door speakers (Pioneer now) to supply the tunes...Don't enter "sound off" competitions, just want a good sound in my car for the least amount of $$...I'm also a long time musician (bass player) so sound quality is pretty important in my audio system...I ordered the speaker over this past weekend, and it arrived yesterday (in two business days)to my surprise..So I grabbed a couple of screwdrivers and installed it in the tube....Was immediately surprised at the sound coming from that cheap tube...Deeper and more thump (yes I said thump...lol) than the speaker it replaced...In nice weather I usually ride the motorcycle to work and rock the stereo I installed on it, but I really wanted to break in this new sub, so took the car....More I played it (every break and lunch), it just sounds better....I listen to hard rock/heavy metal, and depending on the band/recording, some of the low bass (5 string bass range) felt just like I was standing in front of my 400 watt Peavey stack with my Ibanez 5 string in my hand...I could hear the license plate bracket on the car vibrating, the mirrors were vibrating, and I could feel the kick drum and low bass in the seat back....Totally could not believe that cheap tube I bought so many years ago was producing that much sound with just a speaker upgrade...I also added a layer of Poly-Fill mat to the ported end of the tube a couple months ago when I was double checking connections and wiring inside hoping it was just a bad connection that was letting the original speaker cut out...The matting helped get rid of an annoying harmonic frequency (sound waves crashing into each other) that the tube was producing before, and that was VERY evident with the new speaker..Very smooth and even frequency response with no bad harmonics going on now...So for the price of a case of cold beer, I made a cheap sub tube sound like a custom enclosure costing many times the $20 I paid for the new Pyle sub...Huge "bang for the buck" ratio....
