johnny b// A GOOD WHAT IF STORY
This turn'd out to be a pretty good story,in this shoot'um upspaghetti western, staring Robert Woods and John Ireland.Sort oflike "THE PRICE OF POWER" with Giuliano Gemma. But history will showthat SAMUEL GATLING never really got kidnaped and ransomed, likethis western leads on too.But it makes a great what if.JOHN IRELAND(i always liked him as a gifted actor!)plays a mexican bandit(ref:RUN MAN RUN with TOMAS MILIAN)in cahoot's with some southernaristocats, not only to steal his invention, the Gatling gun, butalso kidnap and ransom him for 4 million dollars, paid by uncle samof course.ROBERT WOODS enters into the picture, mysteriously(likeSARTANA,but no cigar!)He could be working under cover for theFederal Army(the union that is)or the government,or somehow kind'afalls into this accidently and tries to help out and save his hide. But it turns out towards the end,he is working undercover for thearmy.Great explosive ending, with great action scenes with the GATLING GUN.Dorado films did a great job on this DVD and the movieis really enjoyable to watch. THANK'S DORADO!!!!

A Breath of Old Ireland
Dorado Films has released a tense, entertaining espionage yarn posing as a western. Written and Directed by Paolo Bianchini , it involves the invention of the Gatling gun which would become an important weapon throughout history and the ruthless mexican bandit who abducts it. The Union officer responsible for letting it slip over to the bandit escapes the gallows by vowing to rescue it. Veteran actor John Ireland is awesome as Tapos, the bandit who realizes what he has in his possession and Robert Woods plays the Union officer bent on retrieving the gun. Also released as "MACHINE GUN KILLERS', the films emerges as excellent escapist fare with a rousing score by Piero Piccioni. The transfer is excellent with great sound and picture quality throughout. All you western lovers out there owe it to yourselves to pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.

A Civil War Spy Flick.
A civil war spy flick boasting some serious action and acrobatics. Union agent Chris Tanner has thirty days to find the missing Doctor Gatling and his gun before another man is hanged and his own name is disgraced. Disbelief aside, the film brings a fresh look at a saturated genre. The plot is a bit odd, the man suspected of stealing the gun is sent to retrieve it and is told to return or else somebody will have to die in his place. But disbelief aside, Tanner proves to be a one capable dude. He murders pretty much everyone that gets in his way and beds several women while he's at it. All the cornerstones of homicide are covered, Tanner cracking skulls mano a mano with his judo chops and hammer fists of fury are the perfect complement to the rapid fire pistol work and gatling gun fire in other scenes. The anachronistic, gratuitously slathered organ jam session that fades in and out works perfectly. The most amusing scene involves Tanner inviting himself into the home of the man he has traded places with and subsequently being dragged fromm the back of a horse around the homestead by the man's angry brother for no less than five minutes. This must have been what Henry Winkler was watching before he jumped the shark.
