Search for the Dragon Queen (Choose Your Own Adventure - Dragonlarks)

I bought this because we already have 'Dragon Day' that we picked up somewhere and my 4-year-old LOVES it. I was excited when I found another one with the same characters. I'm not sure exactly why, but I find Dragon Day to be a little more enjoyable than Search for the Dragon Queen, but Dragon Queen was still really good. The pictures are bright and colorful, and a lot of the different outcomes are silly, which is perfect for 4-6 year olds. We read these CYOA books together and my son thinks it's great to be able to decide what the characters will do next.

Fun to read with your children! It captivates and is an exciting story that draws the reader in. Its fun to read with your child or to listen to your child read. I especially like building the story with my child.

It is okay. There just aren't enough options or enough of a plot to keep my 7 year old interested.

Great way to get kids to read and think and investigate. I bought them for the grandkids. Thank for writing them

When the Dragon Queen is kidnapped, you and your fellow dragonlarks decide to help look for the queen. The path you choose will determine whether or not you are successful.Nice colorful illustrations accompany this introductory Choose Your Own Adventure. Even though it says this is part of a series, it is not necessary to have read any other Dragonlark books to get the plot in this. I read through a couple different possible paths. Some were more complex and exciting and some ended rather abruptly. I wasn't blown away, but I like the easier read CYOA. The text is in a larger font than normal and the sentences aren't super complex though some of the vocabulary might be a little challenging. I'd hand this to high readers in the lower grades or low or reluctant readers in middle grades.Notes on content: In the paths I read there were some potentially perilous situations but no one got seriously hurt.

It got her reading, which is good, but the story isn't particularly well written.
