Wildness
Chef Jeremy, in my opinion, is underrated as a chef. I love his style. This book is humble at it's core and I think it will add value to anyones collection. Love it.

Don't just buy but revel
Heartfelt and empowering, the most accurate adaptation of wilderness and cuisine to date. Forage to table, Jeremy is a true to tradition and everyday life making this amazingly relatable.

If you're in the industry this is a good "hidden" gem to buy
It's a beautiful book with great techniques to learn inside but I would say this is more for the professional chef or the serious foodie rather than someone who just likes to cook.

A beautifully curated book showcasing a unique cuisine specific to a particular place.
Not being familiar with the food of Newfoundland or, more broadly, Labrador, this book was as much a reference text as it was cookbook. Every page is filled with gorgeous photography (courtesy of John Cullen), expertly crafted dishes from Chef Jeremy Charles, and / or brilliant writing about the food, people and traditions of this overlooked corner of the world. While by no means a cookbook for beginners, the book offers a range of options - from more simple to advanced. All presented beautifully with show stopping presentation. This book would be equally as comfortable on a kitchen shelf as well as your coffee table. With an emphasis on both seafood and local ingredients, the biggest challenge may be sourcing what you need to execute the recipes (unless you have access to cod tongue, knotweed, wild hop shoots and moose meat). Many of these dishes may best be reserved for a special occasion or weekend marathon cooking session.

Exquisite hommage to a culture
This book is an incredible hommage of Newfoundland culture, viewed through the lens of one of the top chefs in the world. The recipes presented in this book burst in originality, but with a focus on locally sourced and foraged food products. They are certainly out of reach of most home cooks (and even professional ones), however the creative flavour pairings and modern techniques presented will certainly serve as inspirations for readers to adapt into their own cuisines.

Breathtakingly beautiful
I ordered this book because of the Canadian north angle and was shocked at what I saw inside, having had no expectations. This book is breathtakingly beautiful and a wonderful ode to Canadian cuisine.

Beautiful book, arrived with damage.
My book had the corner damaged (looks like it got bent or pushed in) which is a shame for such a beautiful hard cover book. It arrived in an undamaged box so the must have occurred before shipping. Other than that I love it, it was a gift for my mother.

A favorite
Yes, meat and gore. But a realistic, well written book about the backwoods of a great Province.

A very special book
I buy a lot of cookbooks, they're one of my favourite things to own and this one stands out. From the imagery of NFL to the incredibly complex recipes of really unique foods I am blown away.
