This reel is solid, reliable, smooth, and beautiful. It gives you the feeling of confidence and is an absolute pleasure to fish with. It arrived early in an attractive box and comes protected in a fabric bag (that can be used for other things in your tackle box, etc.). I really enjoyed unpacking it and handling it. It is strong and solid, but not too heavy. You instantly can feel the quality craftsmanship that went into the reel.First thing you'll notice is its just ascetically attractive. It is a beautiful color with blue accents over a background of metallic blue. Glossy with a protective finish. My son actually was in awe of it when we opened it.The drag sets super easy with a clicker on top of the spool that is ergonomically designed. Speaking of design, the crank handle is offset so that it fits the way your hand naturally rotates as you turn it. It is ambidextrous, as well, and the crank change is quick and easy. (I usually don't fish with lefties, but oh well! ;-) ).On a stiff rod this provides just enough counter balance. Its perfect for a long medium weight spinning rod, and also works on a short extra heavy halibut rod. I use it for big salmon and for halibut. Works well with all line types, I assume, but for me I use braided and mono on here. Mono actually was amazing, and the lure pulled the line off the spool with ease with every cast.I HIGHLY recommend this reel for anyone interested in equipment that functions just as wonderfully as it looks!

When i purchased this i was unsure about how large it would actually be. Let me say this is huge! i was very impressed with it. I have on order 100 lb braid and will link it with a heavy action 7 ft rod and fish from my boat. I am super impressed with the fast shipping and the quality of this reel. I plan on slappin some Amberjacks off the Gulf of Mexico with this.I recommend this reel for serious fisherman wanting to winch that fish off the bottom!

Right out of the box I could tell this was a quality reel. I have owned several haibo reels and a off them havee held up to the harsh saltwater fishkng they have been put through. Can't wait to hook into a shark with this one.
