Just another great story in the Ava Lee series. If you haven't read any of Ian Hamilton's previous works you need to go back and start at the beginning.

Most exciting book about accountants ever. Who knew the furniture business could be so suspenseful? Makes me think twice now when someone says they're in a 'cut-throat' business.

I thoroughly enjoy Ava Lee and Ian Hamilton's writing is very good. You learn about different places and cultures.

I enjoyed greatly this most recent novel of the Ava Lee series, in fact I could not stop reading it, much to the despair of my wife. The author is moving away from Uncle influence on Ava in favor of a new protector whom hopefully will offer a continuity to Ava Lee direct implication in the resolution of debt and other imbroglios. I am looking forward to the next novel to appear early 2014.

I am an Ava Lee junkie. Ian Hamilton has created a marvellous character in Ava Lee. I have thoroughly enjoyed all of his Ava Lee novels and am looking forward to reading his next one.

A great "transition" book. I assume Xu will take on the mentoring role for Ava. Who knows she may even "switch sides" :) Looking forward to the next book. I want to be just like Ava when I grow up!!!

I love these books and I am always sad when I finish because that means I have to wait another year for a new book.

In this latest Ava Lee novel, Ian Hamilton expands the exploration of human factors. Whereas in the past rich geographical details dotted the landscape, greater emphasis is now placed on the development of characters. Combined with an intriguing plot, this makes for very satisfying reading. I couldn’t put the book down and am already eagerly anticipating the next one.

I love the Ava Lee series. This latest book in the series is easily the best so far! Hamilton has created a complex character, who has an intense range of emotions expressed in closely written language.With each book I learn about modern Chinese customs and thoughts.The end of this story had me in tears. I really care about the main character.I recommend this book most highly.

Personally this writhe touches ALL my reading hot buttons in developing the 'sinister' characters throughout the book. A twist as "Oncle" has passed and Anna is now going forward 'on her own' so to peak. I see the development of Others and wait expectantly for Ian's next release. A must read,,,

Just as with all of the other Ian .Hamilton "Ava Lee" series I have read, I really did enjoy the book

This series is so interesting, so consuming that I found it difficult to put it down. Unlike other series that seem to get too repetitive, Ava Lee continues to intrigue.
